Chinese New Year is never complete without a lavish reunion dinner starring traditional auspicious dishes such as yusheng, Buddha Jumps Over the Wall, and, of course, pen cai.

To epitomise its symbolism of abundance and prosperity, this pot is a treasure trove of auspicious ingredients such as pork knuckle (good fortune), whole dace fish (luck) and deep-fried prawn in hawthorn (happiness).
