Local pastry chef Daniel Tay and his team have given this ubiquitous CNY snack a contemporary spin with their newly launched black truffle bak kwa. 3. Lim Chee Guan

You can never go wrong with this signature bak kwa from storied brand Lim Chee Guan, which has been making this ubiquitous CNY snack since 1938. They use premium ingredients to make the slices, and these are roasted over charcoal and turned constantly to ensure both sides have that same delicate smokiness and caramelised texture.
