Tatler Says
Shang Palace has been around since 1971, and for half a century, it has maintained its status as a Chinese fine dining establishment that consistently impresses with its refined classic Cantonese dishes. Chef Daniel Cheung and his team are passionate about preserving nostalgic dishes—Peking duck, a mainstay on the menu that’s done exceptionally well, and oven-baked cod fillet, its ocean flavours beautifully balanced with egg white and dried scallops. Rich with red hues, the main dining room is dressed to resemble a Chinese imperial garden, while private rooms are elegant and impressive with cascading chandeliers and velvet seats. Service at Shang Palace is warm and personable, with longstanding staff who have formed intimate bonds with generations of families in Singapore.
