We present the inaugural Top 20 Bars, an unranked collection of the best sips in the country
In the past decade, there’s no disputing that Singapore’s cocktail bar scene has evolved into a force to be reckoned with. With the current industry phenomenon of guest shifts presenting opportunities for knowledge exchange, our global footprint has extended to all four corners of the world. But that wasn’t always the case. Throwback to a time when the Lion City was regarded as a nascent but promising regional player, it was a pioneering batch of cocktail bars including Jigger & Pony, Nutmeg & Clove, Manhattan, 28 HongKong Street, and even the now-defunct Tippling Club, that did the thankless; paving the way for Singapore’s unique cocktail culture.
Today, the bar industry is often described as “eclectic”, a word that shouldn't be taken lightly either. From modern drinking theatres like East47 to timeless cocktail sanctuaries like Live Twice, aspiring operators are raising the bar with progressively experimental cocktail recipes and technically finessed classics. And what better time to launch the Tatler Best 2025 bar awards in recognition of the incredible talent we have on our shores than now? Together with Ron Zacapa, an award-winning Guatemala rum, this year’s panel of reviewers and experts cast their votes to reveal this year’s cream of the crop.
