International Women’s Day falls on March 8, and there is no better way to honour the women in your life than by treating her to a decadent meal. This year, chefs around the island are also celebrating the occasion with the introduction of exclusive menus and offerings.

Pamper your loved one with a relaxing afternoon tea session at Shangri-La Singapore’s The Lobby Lounge or head to The Courtyard at The Fullerton Hotel for its iconic Purple Afternoon Tea spread.

Several bars are also joining in the celebration with a slew of exclusive offerings perfect for those who enjoy a tipple or two. Visit Level33 for unlimited pints of its house brews before imbibing on cocktails at Sago House.

1. The Courtyard

Executive pastry chef Siddharth Prabhu’s iconic Purple Afternoon Tea experience has returned. Inspired by butterflies in a garden, the purple spread sees decadent creations like the juicy roasted Angus beef; sweet Hokkaido scallop tartlet; and fluffy cheese puff filled with truffle egg mayonnaise. Save room for dessert as a selection of sweet treats await—look forward to the indulgent blackcurrant dome, comprising beautiful layers of velvety blackcurrant mousse, blackcurrant confit and buttery sable Breton. Available from now until March 31.

2. The Lobby Lounge

Pamper the women in your lives with a lavish afternoon tea session at Shangri-La Singapore’s The Lobby Lounge. Available from now until March 31, the Empowher High Tea spread features a selection of sweet and savoury bite-sized gems. Start with savouries and dig into the Japanese purple sweet potato and caramelised onion tartlet; bourbon smoked chicken bun; and Singapore chilli crab quiche. Then, move on to sweets and find treats like the zesty blackberries citrus tart, floral elderflower orange financier and creamy raspberry rose namelaka. For every high tea set, SG$5 will also be donated to local non-profit organisation, United Women Singapore.

3. Alley on 25

Alley on 25 has introduced a strawberry-themed high tea spread, just in time for International Women’s Day. Curated by chef de cuisine Tommy Wong and pastry chef Francis Wong, the new spread sees a selection of delectable creations including the strawberry yuzu eclair, soft Hokkaido milk panna cotta, and fluffy strawberry shortcake. Savouries are available too, like the creamy chicken vol-au-vent that sees beautifully char-grilled chicken accompanied by bacon, bell peppers and cream cheese. Available from now until June 30.

4. The Summerhouse

The Summerhouse is celebrating women with the addition two exclusive dishes: We Are Women and Femme Fatale. The former is a delectable appetiser comprising crispy cauliflower florets dressed in a rich camembert sauce and decorated in almonds and paprika. The latter sees beautifully pan-seared barramundi accompanied by purple mashed potato and heirloom carrots. Available from now until March 31.

Imbibe on the blond lager, a smooth and refreshing brew that’s offers light fruity notes. 6. Vin Geek

Vin Geek is celebrating women with its ladies only night. Available from March 6 to 12, ladies can delight in two-hours of free flow rose and sparkling wine. A selection of vino is available, among which are the light bodied Antico Rosone Vino Rosato d’Italia, a tipple with notes of pear and citrus; and Cantine Caviro Romagna DOC Spumante, a dry sparkling wine with floral and fruity flavours.

This International Women’s Day, the women of Sago House are taking over—the Sago Hard Gurls Takeover will see the introduction of three exclusive cocktails by Celestine Chan, Nina Kong and Desiree Jane Silva. Chan’s concoction, Inner Strength, is inspired by her mother and sees a medley of Bombay Sapphire, elderflower-infused echinacea tea, honey, lemon and Aer. While Kong’s Grammy’s Garden represents ‘tenacity and standing tall through life’s seasons’, featuring Dewar’s 12-year whisky, spiced apples, fake lime, soda and apple foam. The Fernetic is Silva’s rendition of the classic cocktail, Hanky Panky, comprising Bacardi Blanco rum, tamarind infused Baldoria Rosso vermouth, fernet branca and fake lime. Available on March 8.

Taking over the bar on March 8 is bartending duo, Patricia Peral and Ophelie Lopez of popular Parisian cocktail bar, Candelaria. Exclusively available on International Women’s Day, the duo will serve up four concoctions inspired by Mexican culture and flavours. Imbibe on tantalising tipples like the tart Cocomos, a cocktail made from a blend of Macallan 12, petit grain and yuzu; and the refreshing Summer Fizz that sees Macallan 15, Oloroso sherry, carbonated water and orange bitters.
