BTS teams up with Megan Thee Stallion for ‘Butter’ remix
After a long legal battle, Megan Thee Stallion’s remix of BTS’ Butter finally gets the green light for a release. Megan Thee Stallion’s label 1501 Certified Entertainment is blocking the release of the remix.
Megan Thee Stallion then sought legal intervention and filed a temporary restraining order against her label to allow her to release the remix. A Texas judge ruled that the WAP rapper is clear to release the Butter remix.
BTS’ label, Big Hit Music said that the upcoming remix celebrates BTS’ milestone as the chart-topping hit remained at number one on the Billboard Hot100 chart for nine straight weeks—the longest by any song released in 2021.
Megan Thee Stallion expressed her excitement on Twitter saying, “[You all] don't even understand how excited I am”. Butter ft. Megan Thee Stallion will be released on August 27.
BTS’ Jungkook is featured in Beyoncé’s Virgo Season Yearbook
Beyoncé shared her Virgo Season Yearbook on her website, which features 34 childhood pictures of celebrities and public figures including Nick Jonas, Amy Winehouse, Keke Palmer and many others. But much to the joy of many BTS fans, it also included Jungkook, the youngest member of the group.
The yearbook included a childhood photo of Jungkook alongside his birthday, September 1. Beyoncé also describes Jungkook as hard-working, creative, reliable, patient and kind.
Kang Dong-won is in talks to star in the remake of Hong Kong movie, ‘Accident’
Notable Korean actor and The Penninsula star Kang Dong-won is in talks to star in the remake of the Hong Kong movie, Accident. The 2009 action thriller film was produced by Johnnie To and starred Louis Koo and Richie Jen. It also competed at the 66th Venice International Film Festival.
Kang's agency, YG Entertainment, said that the actor is positively reviewing the casting offer for Brain, the lead character. Director Lee Yo-seob will be helming the remake and is scheduled to start filming later this year.
Accident follows a contract killer named Brain who barely survived after a contracted murder goes haywire. He begins to track down the mastermind behind the accident and start suspecting the people around him. The remake is set to keep the original story but make adjustments to fit the expectations of the Korean audience.

Girl Group Solia disbands just five days after debuting
There are a lot of groups today that are inactive but have yet to formally disband. For new girl group Solia, their disbandment comes just five days after debuting. The five-member group made their debut on August 17 with the album, Dream. Prior to debuting, the members promoted their activities through their Instagram account from June 16.
On August 22, Space Music Entertainment said that “due to its circumstances,” they can “no longer be able to keep Solia going so [they] have to wrap up activities after having long discussions with the company”. The company nor the members didn’t disclose what those circumstances were but fans suspect it refers to their financial situation and inability to continue supporting the group.
Each member posted on their individual Instagram accounts about the unfortunate news but said that they remained thankful for the love and support they received.
