Corsetto
The Corsetto armchair begins with a familiar idea—an upholstered chair that envelops the body—but gives it a distinctive visual tension. That contrast between restraint and softness is central to the design by Cristián Mohaded, with its rounded form compressed by a leather belt that rises from the base towards the armrests, creating the impression of a corset.
A rigid, solid base anchors the chair, while the upper shell is generously padded across the seat and backrest—resulting in a seat that feels protective without becoming visually heavy.
Leather defines the lower shell and belt, while the upholstered body can be specified in the fabrics and leathers in the Molteni&C collection. Depending on the combination, Corsetto can move from quietly tonal to more emphatic, allowing material and colour to alter its character.

While celebrating his 10th anniversary as Creative Director of Molteni&C, Vincent Van Duysen envisions the kitchen as more than a functional zone. Just as Molteni&C Kitchen Dada Engineered marks its centenary, Physis arrives as a fluid, central space around which daily life can unfold.
Rounded edges and sides, together with half-bullnose workmanship, soften the hard transitions traditionally associated with kitchen architecture.
