Tatler Homes celebrated another milestone on July 30, 2026, as the fourth edition of the Tatler Homes Design Awards - Malaysia brought together the country’s leading architects, interior designers and industry figures at The RuMa Hotel Kuala Lumpur to celebrate a new generation of projects redefining contemporary luxury through thoughtful, context-driven design.
As the venue sponsor, The RuMa welcomed guests to an elegant evening of canapés and handcrafted refreshments at the hotel’s Santai Pool Bar and Lounge, where members of the community reconnected ahead of the ceremony against a relaxed yet sophisticated backdrop overlooking the city skyline.

Throughout the evening, in The Pavilion, main sponsor Palmér invited guests to explore the Malaysian luxury mattress maker’s showcase, where its handcrafted, custom-sized mattress on display highlighted the brand’s belief that exceptional craftsmanship extends beyond architecture, with considered design also shaping the quality of rest experienced within a space.

Following welcoming remarks by Gerrie Beh, managing director of Tatler Malaysia and Tatler Indonesia, who reflected on the growing influence of Malaysia’s design community and the importance of celebrating creative excellence, Tatler Homes regional managing editor Jennifer Choo officially commenced the awards presentation, recognising this year’s seven winning projects and practices.
From homes that blur the boundaries between architecture and nature to interiors that prioritise atmosphere, craftsmanship and everyday living, this year’s winners were presented with finely crafted trophies by trophy sponsor Royal Selangor, whose centuries-old artisanal expertise echoed the same attention to detail demonstrated across each winning project.

Choo Gim Wah Architect received Best Architectural Concept for Rainforest Residence in Janda Baik, Pahang—a Brutalist-inspired home that rejects conventional enclosed circulation, immersing residents within the surrounding rainforest through a series of terraces, walkways and semi-outdoor spaces that create a seamless dialogue between architecture and nature.

For Best Show Unit, 932 Design Group was recognised for its interiors at Wolo Mont Kiara, a Magma Property development.
Across three distinct unit typologies, the designers established a cohesive material language through pale oak, rattan detailing and carefully considered spatial planning—creating warm, liveable homes that appeal to a broad range of future residents.

Matthew Lim Associates took home Best Interior Design for its transformation of a 12,000-sq-ft ancillary building into a sophisticated Mediterranean-inspired clubhouse.
Organised around an art gallery, private omakase bar, wine cellar and cigar lounge, the project balances architectural restraint with tactile materials and thoughtfully curated furnishings to create an atmosphere of understated luxury.
