The Tatler Homes Design Awards 2026 highlight the most beautiful and inspiring abodes in Asia, with editions in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand
Good design nurtures the human experience. Architects and designers craft interiors as sanctuaries, uplifting moods through innovative concepts tailored to each project’s unique context.
Colours, textures, and flow coalesce, transcending utility to stir an emotional connection with our surroundings. These rejuvenating havens transcend utility, beckoning us to embrace moments of restorative calm.
We celebrate these key tenets through the Tatler Homes Design Awards, which will mark their fourth edition in Malaysia. In Singapore, the awards celebrated their tenth edition in June; the fourth for the Philippines is coming up, and the first ever for Thailand in December, all of which have become highly anticipated events in their respective local design calendars.
The fourth Tatler Homes Design Awards - Malaysia will be held at The RuMa Kuala Lumpur on July 30, 2026, where the winners of the seven categories will be announced.

We look for the most innovative and cohesive home designs in a wide array of styles and scales. These projects must have been either realised by a local studio or an international firm in the country where the awards ceremony is held.
We consider the following five key qualities: design concept, execution, originality, spatial planning, and contextual relevance. These criteria are also examined in response to specific requirements for each individual category.
For instance, the Best Use of Colour category highlights the project that most effectively uses colourful accents and details, while the Best Architectural Concept category considers how the design team creates a unique and contextual solution to the brief.

Just as every home is uniquely its own, we have tailored the categories of the Tatler Homes Design Awards to represent the prevailing design trends, tastes, and unique needs of each market.
For instance, the Singapore edition in 2023 introduced a new Best Good Class Bungalow category in recognition of the significant quantity of such projects completed in the past year, as well as the uniqueness and scale of the property type that has long been regarded as the cream of the crop in the city-state.
Malaysia’s fourth edition will cover seven award categories:
- Best Architectural Concept
- Best Sustainable Design
- Best Use of Colour
- Best Show Unit
- Best Interior Design
- Designer on the Rise
- Best Innovative Design (Non-residential)

Each year, the annual award ceremony taps into the expertise of reputable industry leaders, academics, and tastemakers to determine the list of winners. We begin compiling the longlist a year in advance and deliberate over selecting winners at least two to three months before the awards ceremony.
Among the key members of the jury panel are Jakarta-based architect Andra Matin and Lebanese designer, Nada Debs, founded Studio Nada Debs, Matin is known for his climate-responsive approach to space, structure and material. His work has been recognised by the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Wth offices in Beirut, Dubai and Osaka, Debs is known for her collaborations with Eastern craft traditions, working across marquetry, weaving and mother-of-pearl inlay. Her work has been recognised on AD Middle East’s AD100 list for three consecutive years and commissioned by Dior for its La Collection Privée fragrance line.
Another notable name is Lillian Tay, Group vice president of Veritas Group. Tay, renowned for her groundbreaking designs, has spearheaded iconic projects across Malaysia, like the W Hotel and Oxley Towers.
In addition to Matin and Tay, the esteemed jury panel for the Malaysian edition will include Bee Eu Tan of BETA Architects and Lai Siew Hong of Blu Water Studio.
