In case you missed it: 54 unique date ideas in Singapore for every type of couple
1. Labyrinth

Above Labyrinth
Dining at Labyrinth is a deliberate deep dive into Singaporean nostalgia. Chef Han Li Guang handles mod-Sin fare by pulling from the flavours he grew up with, presenting them through a technical, contemporary lens. The space serves as a quiet retreat in Marina Bay where the focus is entirely on a journey through long-forgotten ingredients, making it an exceptional pick for a romantic and memorable date.
The experience is famously educational; each course arrives with info-cards and a detailed brief from the staff. You’ll find local staples completely transformed—the chilli crab ice cream is a sharp reinterpretation of the classic, while the cereal prawn ice cream turns a hawker favourite into something modern. Even the morning staple, kaya toast, gets the molecular treatment, alongside a version of “ang moh” chicken rice that looks nothing like the original but hits every familiar note.
2. Stags Head Steakhouse

Above The Library Bar & Lounge at Stags Head Steakhouse
The team behind the venerable Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse and Artemis Grill has unveiled its latest ambitious venture: Stags Head, a contemporary steakhouse that brings a distinctly London-style perspective to the Marina Bay dining circuit. Located on the third floor of Pan Pacific Singapore, the space draws on Neo-Victorian and Neo-Georgian architectural cues, featuring a grand 5.5-metre ceiling and its own Library Bar & Lounge.
Under the direction of group executive chef Oliver Hyde, the kitchen focuses on live-fire craftsmanship. Large-format sharing cuts, including porterhouses and bone-in F1 Wagyu, are butchered in-house and aged on-site before being grilled over a precise combination of binchōtan charcoal and applewood. Beyond the beef, the menu channels a modern British countryside aesthetic with robust, grill-led seafood and seasonal produce sourced from the British Isles and the Cameron Highlands.
3. Buona Terra

Above Buona Terra
True to its name, meaning "Good Earth" in Italian, Buona Terra is an ode to the passionate Italian love affair with food, guided by the personal vision of Chef Denis Lucchi. His cuisine is a thoughtful return to basics, focusing on the unhurried enjoyment of flavours, while masterfully reinventing tradition. Chef Lucchi handpicks the finest artisanal produce from Italy, using this "gourmet larder" as the jump-off point for complex, contemporary works of art. Unlike traditional shared platters, dishes here are presented individually, ensuring a sense of discovery that is proudly, quintessentially, and sublimely Italian.
4. Firangi Superstar

Above Firangi Superstar
To enjoy a date night that is as cinematic as it is culinary, Firangi Superstar offers an intimate, highly theatrical escape. The concept takes a maximalist approach to Indian cuisine, transforming its dining space into four distinct, richly detailed, and romantic zones that invoke different facets of India. Far from a minimalist space, this restaurant is designed for discovery and conversation. We suggest leaning into the ambience while ordering their contemporary cuisine, ensuring the entire evening becomes an unforgettable journey of bold flavours and lavish storytelling.
5. Gu:um

Above Gu:um
Couples seeking an intimate date with a modern edge, Gu:um (meaning “to grill” or “to cook over fire” in Korean) is the perfect sophisticated rebellion against traditional fine dining. This grill house, led by the culinary team behind the Michelin-starred Nae:um, elevates Korean flavours using a modern charcoal grill in an engaging open kitchen concept on Keong Saik Road. The ambience is dark-lit and vibey, making it ideal for intimate conversation while sharing premium cuts like the Tajima Wagyu Ribeye or the richly flavoured Iberico Pluma, complemented by contemporary Korean-inspired appetisers.
6. Le Pristine Singapore
It’s impossible to touch on date night without referencing Le Pristine, where a deliciously intimate space featuring an open kitchen and uniquely designed private dining suites awaits. It’s the kind of place that piques your curiosity, with melted disco balls by Dutch art collective Rotganzen, signature clay light fixtures by Dutch author-designer Maarten Baas, and commissioned charcoal pieces by Belgian artist Rinus Van de Velde.
Though the space is a vision in itself, your night will be elevated with chef-owner Sergio Herman’s coveted new-Italian cuisine for a thoroughly memorable evening. Opt for the signature seafood orecchiette that arrives with a mix of various seafood like mussels and squid, finished with house-made orecchiette and a rich nduja sauce.

Whether you’re sharing appetisers or having a proper feast, trust the kitchen to dish out bold creations that take influence from Peru and Brazil. After the munch, stick around or migrate to the picture-worthy cocktail bar, headlined by the signature cascading bamboo chandelier. There’s an odd charm in romancing your date on the former grounds of a certain high school that is now New Bahru. Within lies Somma, a stunning restaurant space, tinkered up by the fabulous Italian chef Mirko Febbrile, that includes a cocktail and pasta bar and an R&D lab. Relish on Febbrile’s contemporary—but no less exciting—plates that promise to whisk your date away to Puglian country. Even the interiors, featuring the clever use of Italian stones, marble and leather, evoke the rugged beauty of his hometown. Don’t skimp and miss out on the cheese room experience, where seasonal aged specimens rest and are then served with experimental fermented libations; think 60‐year‐old whisky‐infused bluefalo cheese from Lombardy.

On the fringes of Orchard is somewhat of a well-kept secret. Run by Singaporean chef-owner Javier Low and his Taiwanese sommelier wife Emily Hsiang, Iru Den is a niche; plating up modern Taiwanese-inspired courses, using Taiwanese produce, guided by Japanese and European sensibilities. Tucked away in sheer privacy, the restaurant atmosphere feels intimate, the execution of dishes is sublime, and tableside service is far from gimmicky. This sexy nook oozes old money glamour, bearing resemblance to legendary Manhattan steakhouses, and is tinkered up by award-winning—and punkishly stylish—chef and restaurateur Sean Connolly. Sink your teeth into top-quality steaks and lovely seasonal produce cooked in dynamic fashion. Don’t skimp on the carbs too. The duck fat potatoes, scented with ribbons of rosemary, are simply divine. For sweet endings, perhaps an order of the towering cheesecake might seal the deal. And to really impress him or her, know that you can count on the in-house sommelier, who makes banging recommendations from an extensively curated wine list.

Anticipate signatures like the bergamot, marigold and hazelnut foie gras; spring rolls with hatsu bonito, sesame and wasabi leaves; sakura ebi risotto with smoked daikon and shio koji; and the Hokkaido A4 Wagyu with accompaniments of sansho pepper, fenugreek, and spring onion. After a meal, stroll around the surrounding gardens within the grounds, and perhaps sneak in a cheeky smooch or maybe even pop the question.

It is, after all, a fruition of an eccentric idea to marry the inclusiveness of highly interactive Korean barbecue joints and the opulence of classic American steakhouses. Enter the dark side as you journey to your table. A singular bulb illuminates your rendezvous and the sumptuous spread in between. Thumping beats groove to the sizzling sounds from the grill. Each discreet booth is riddled with privacy, lending a sense of mystery. A meal here is all kinds of lavish, especially the ten‐course steak omakase, using the highest grades of beef that has been dry‐aged in‐house. Think pairings of Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and Petrossian Tsar Imperial Daurenki caviar. If that won’t impress your date, perhaps not even dinosaur eggs will.

Marguerite is decorated with Scandinavian-style furniture, complete with elegant marble tables, handmade ceramics and vessels, and fixtures from local and international artisans.
That’s not all, the menu is equally impressive, where each dish highlights provenance, produce, and the seasons. 17. Madame Fan
Madame Fan is the epitome of old Hong Kong glamour. The space, once occupied by a former military club, is given new life with restored Italian marble and vintage pictures. The softly lit ambience of the restaurant is finished with rich velvet accents and jazz melodies for the perfect, big screen date. It’s almost as if the restaurant was made for a romantic rendezvous. The heart of the restaurant lies in its modern Cantonese cuisine which includes wok-fried crispy duck and a heavenly kampong chicken soup. If your date’s partial to dim sum, then the traditional Chinese small-plate selection is a big draw here.
18. Rosemead
Sitting within a 1920s heritage building, Rosemead’s ethos is a partnership between Neo-Californian cuisine and modern art-deco chic. The high ceilings play host to columns of dangling circular lamps that soothe with simplicity and symmetry. Completing the interior are neutral coloured walls and artfully decorated pillars.
Start the night with wine recommendations from the restaurant’s well-curated list, then follow it with a sweet potato gnocchi served with golden cordyceps and drenched in a rich, delectable sauce. If being lavished with seafood is your love language, prepare to be seduced by its selection of wood-fired grilled dishes, prepared before your eyes in the custom-built open-hearth oven sitting in the middle of the dining hall.
19. Imamura
The dining room at Imamura is dark and sultry. Tucked away in an old colonial chapel in Sentosa, the walk up to the restaurant is reminiscent of attending an intimate soirée. Everything is dressed with fastidious care at Imamura, including bathroom accessories and the table-top ikebana arrangement. The 12-seater Japanese kaiseki-inspired restaurant curates its courses around the best produce from various Japanese prefectures, which are paired with condiments from around the region. In other words, its charm lies in its ever-changing menu, as everything depends on what the season brings.
20. Jaan by Kirk Westaway
As you traverse through brass-framed glass doors to a hallway lined with artworks by Australian artist Steven Cross, hold your breath–hand-blown Italian Murano Glass and a stunning skyline await. Is this Singapore’s most beautiful restaurant? Possibly. Jaan by Kirk Westaway may have an upper hand with its spectacular view on Level 70 of Swissôtel The Stamford, but the modern-British restaurant matches its good looks with food that’s prepared with handpicked ingredients from chef Kirk Westaway’s hometown of Devon.
At Jaan, Kirk reimagines his favourite childhood British snacks and breathes his honest and exquisite culinary interpretations into each dish. Using ingredients such as king crab, langoustine, and Kagoshima Wagyu, enjoy nature’s finest with a cuisine that continues to pay tribute to seasonality. Complement the meal with a pick from the geographically extensive, 700-label strong wine list surrounded by the lights of Marina Bay.
21. Brasserie Astoria
Corinthian columns, overhead compact disc lights, and accented foliage–Brasserie Astoria has some serious charm. Part of the grand Victoria Concert Hall, this elegant dining space is helmed by prolific Swedish chef Björn Frantzén, best known for the three-Michelin-star fine dining institution Zén. The menu is Nordic-influenced whilst painting the classic Parisian brasserie experience of the 1900s. Think Wagyu beef fired up tableside and served with Kampot and green pepper sauce with a side of roasted potatoes. And if you fancy a drink, wines and cocktails inspired by Nordic and Asian influences are at your beck and call.
22. Born
At Born, form, colour, and texture are poised to bewitch guests. The arched décor and a breathtaking pulped paper installation by Dutch artist Peter Gentenaar fill the main dining room, setting an appropriate stage for chef Zor Tan’s contemporary cuisine marrying Chinese traditions and classic French techniques. The nine-course seasonal menu at Born is chef Zor’s heartfelt tribute to familiar relationships with the people he has encountered, executed with precision, intriguing ingredients, and captivating flavours.
23. Claudine
Enter through the door of an old colonial chapel on Dempsey Hill and you’ll find a narrow dining room that oozes classic romance, with a magnificent original stained glass window and interior inspired by the vernacular of the quintessential French brasserie. Running through Claudine’s dining hall is a 15-metre-long paper lamp custom-made by Spanish lighting designers Santa & Cole. Additionally, on its walls are glass panels composed of locally sourced wild grasses for botany enthusiasts to marvel at. Here, you’ll find some of the best French fare in the region with a roll call of favourites, from caramelised onion tart to vol-au-vent.
24. Pangium
Set in the picturesque Singapore Botanic Gardens, Pangium is named after the pangium tree that grows from the buah keluak seed. The bright and airy space invites natural light in through its floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the gardens. A modern Peranakan restaurant by nature, the national biodiversity of the region is given the spotlight. Perfect for couples who are inclined to try everything on the menu, the tasting menu-only restaurant kickstarts your culinary rendezvous with highlights that include the tau you bak (braised pork in soy sauce) and pang susi (Eurasian sweet potato buns).
25. Saint Pierre
Another restaurant boasting a stunning view is One Fullerton’s Saint Pierre. The two-Michelin-starred contemporary French restaurant overlooks the Marina Bay waterfront and is adorned by local design studio Terre. There’s more to Saint Pierre than mere charm though. Chef-owner Emmanuel Stroobant, known for his innovation and artistry, fuses French and Asian influences in his cuisine. Fall for dishes like the sweet and delicate Hokkaido hairy crab or a Manjari chocolate from Madagascar paired with French raspberries and lychee sorbet.
26. Ocean Restaurant
You’re not exactly under the sea on this date, but you’re close. Possibly one of Singapore’s most exquisite fine dining experiences, a date at Ocean Restaurant is for those who wish to impress. The freshness of the sea is always within reach with a luxuious seafood-focused menu. Book a table surrounded by the deep blue waters and tuck into chef Olivier Bellin’s sustainably sourced menu alongside marine creatures as they glide through the restaurant’s aquarium. Favourites include the shredded king crab sandwich between a toasted baguette and thinly sliced avocado that commands a symphony of flavours and textures.
