Gourmand circles are abuzz with whispers of Chef Tatung’s upcoming private dining concept in his Antipolo home—learn all about it, below:

“This is not a restaurant!,” proclaims Myke Sarthou, the Filipino food advocate lovingly known as Chef Tatung. Open for just ten events from the 30th of April until the 15th of June, Tatung’s is a unique private dining experience hosted by the persona himself, in his very own Antipolo residence. “[I am most excited about] cooking for people myself and hosting them at home,” he shares with Tatler. “It’s very intimate—something I missed during the pandemic."

Located a few minutes away from Boso-Boso Highlands Resort & Hotel (the exact address shall only be disclosed to those with confirmed bookings, as this is Tatung’s private abode, after all), guests will be treated to an experience with exclusivity, intimacy, and personalisation beyond compare. Tatung strictly accepts only one group at a time, allowing him to personally attend to the guests and ensure they get the most of their time at the picturesque property.

The woodland wonderland alone entices an adventurous hunger, inviting you to explore the charming nooks and crannies that lie ahead. “For people with weak knees, it can be a struggle,” he warns. “However, the place can be magical. On a good night, we even have fireflies in the garden. We can even arrange for live music if that suits you.” A bespoke grazing table is another added touch that Tatung happily offers, explaining “I really want [the experience] to so be special and memorable.”

Likewise, those hoping to bring the little ones can also do so without worry. “They can actually tag along and spend their time at the pool as we serve a special meal that is more to their liking—promise, no wine for them!”, Tatung jests. “We think of our guests like family.”

The host’s heartwarming hospitality and eagerness to get acquainted with his guests effortlessly extend to the meal itself. Inspired by his culinary journey, every bite across the generous ten-course menu introduces diners to a facet of Tatung himself. In fact, the name “Tatung’s” is a nod to his first-ever fining outlet by the same name, established over a decade ago.

“Expect something different, something out of the ordinary,” he advises, beaming with excitement about the upcoming project. As a figure lauded for championing Ratatouille’s “everyone can cook” philosophy, this extravagant fine dining concept is certainly a change of pace. However, as his numerous cookbooks, television shows, and Youtube series, and notable appearances on Netflix’s Street Food: Asia and Madrid Fusion in Spain demonstrate, Tatung possesses a bounty of knowledge and a fervent passion for Filipino cuisine palpable with every spoonful.
