Water so clear, you can see the starfish beneath mild-mannered waves. At night, the stars twinkle like diamonds, and the palm trees sway quietly in the shadows. Bantayan Island is located off the coast of Medellin in Cebu. Its rural charm makes it a perfect getaway for families or friends looking for peace and quiet. Though it's an hour's ride away from the main island, it's worth visiting the white-sand beaches that form the coast of Bantayan.

One of Batangas' best-kept secrets is Fortune Island, a tiny isle—almost abandoned—that's an hour's boat ride away from shore. A tiny motorboat can be hired for tourists to make the trip. When they arrive, perhaps the first thing they'll see is the Greek-inspired ruins that stand proudly atop craggy peaks. Beyond the curious remains and the majestic rock formations of the island, people will be delighted to know that there are incredibly blue waters and pristine sands ready to be enjoyed by visitors.
