There is no better way to celebrate the queen of the family than with an indulgent meal—after all, food is the way to their hearts, right? That said, the island’s top chefs have crafted sumptuous menus to honour the mums in our lives. Here are a few to get you started.

1. Ginger

Mothers who take a liking for Peranakan fare will delight in executive chef Vincent Aw’s Mother’s Day buffet spread, served from May 7 to June 30. Bring an appetite and tuck into a selection of dishes which put the spotlight on Chinese ingredients, as well as Malaysian and Indonesian spices. Look forward to crowd favourites such as earthy buak keluak fried rice; tender braised duck doused in a sweet tamarind sauce; and aromatic Nonya chicken curry. Dessert is a decadent bubur cha cha, comprising impossibly tender sweet potatoes, yam and chewy sago, which are cooked in sweet fragrant coconut milk. Book here.

2. Racines

The culinary team at Racines has prepared a lavish semi-buffet brunch on May 8. Be welcomed with a luxurious crustacean platter laden with Hokkaido scallops, oysters and more. It is a decadent start to the parade of dishes to come—prepare your appetites for the maguro tuna tartare drizzled with a zesty sesame yuzu dressing; succulent chargrilled Angus beef striploin; and salmon confit dressed in citrus crème. A decadent Mother’s Day meal beckons at this American steakhouse, which is offering a glorious three-course lunch on May 8. The offering is a mix of new creations and signatures, so get started with the all-time favourite juicy maple glazed pork belly served alongside a slightly sweet rhubarb-apple compote.
 
Mains give you a variety of options, including Maryland blue crab cakes benedict, and steak and eggs. The latter is a classic and consists of a succulent USDA prime New York sirloin that comes with crispy roasted marble potatoes and watercress salad. 4. Sol & Luna

Bring your appetite at Sol & Luna, as the team has prepared a palatable a la carte brunch menu just for Mother’s Day. Apart from its classic brunch offerings, look forward to two new dishes—brioche French toast and big pan breakfast. The former sees lava stone-toasted buttery brioche crowned with sweet Japanese strawberries and caramelised banana. It is then finished with a generous drizzle of salted caramel. 5. Yàn

Gather the family for a delightful eight-course meal at Yàn. Anticipate classic Cantonese fare featuring celebration must-haves, starting with the roasted Peking duck and cucumber atop fluffy Chinese pancake. Then, savour tantalising mains such as sweet sauteed scallops with seasonal greens; braised vermicelli with tender duck meat; and braised six-headed abalone and sea cucumber in oyster sauce. 6. Burger & Lobster

Delight in Burger & Lobster’s Seafood Medley Cartoccio come Mother’s Day. Exclusively available at its Raffles Hotel outlet from May 6 to 8, this dish is a medley of wild live Canadian lobster, fresh clams, king prawns and green mussels. The seafood is cooked in an aromatic white wine, fennel and cherry tomato broth, and served alongside its signature buttery brioche. 7. Zafferano Italian Restaurant & Lounge

Mothers with a palate for Italian fare can head to Zafferano for its delectable brunch spread. The meal begins with refreshing appetisers to whet the palate, such as the octopus salad accompanied with potatoes and black olives, and drizzled with zesty Amalfi lemon juice. Then, take your pick from the three tantalising mains, including a tender Jac Wagyu striploin, served with red oak lettuce and smoked bone marrow; aromatic herb-crusted pork loin with creamy butternut; and flaky black cod with scampi cacciucco (Italian fish stew). Served alongside the juicy steak is the Japanese restaurant’s signature fat rice, which sees fluffy Japanese rice mixed with kombu, truffle and Wagyu fat; and ebi korokke, a creamy croquette made with ebi prawns. Edge’s Parents’ Day buffet menu begins with a medley of fresh Boston lobsters and succulent snow crab.
