See how Kylie Jenner, Doja Cat and more have styled the trending Coperni Swipe bag

If you’ve been on Instagram, chances are you’ve seen the glass Coperni Swipe Bag.

In the past week alone, the transparent accessory has been worn by both Doja Cat and Kylie Jenner. Clearly (no pun intended), it’s shaping up to be one of the hottest It-bags of the season, though some might argue about whether it even counts as a bag.

Coperni first unveiled its trendy Swipe Bag in 2020. The silhouette was soon spotted on celebrities like Dua Lipa and Megan Fox, and even made a cameo on the trendsetting HBO series, Euphoria. The French luxury brand has since released countless more versions of its cult bag, including a customisable one made in collaboration with Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams.

The blown glass iterations you see everywhere now are from Coperni’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, and were made in collaboration with Heven, a New York-based glassware and homeware brand.

Some of the bags featured a mirrored texture, while others featured an ombré finish. On the runway, Gigi Hadid showed off one with its very own devil horns on the handle.

Despite being crafted of glass, the bags are made to be practical, as Heven founders Breanne Box and Peter Dupont insist: “Our pieces always have a functionality and that’s one of the philosophies behind what we do with Heven. This bag is functional: you can put your phone in it, your wallet.”

To prove their statement, we take a look at exactly what the  Coperni Swipe Bags have been used to carry so far.

Candy

Trust Doja Cat to bring only the essentials to the Grammys. On the red carpet, the award-winning popstar flaunted a sky blue Swipe Bag that matched her Versace gown.

While the handle featured an opaque, blue-to-grey gradient, the bottom of the bag was transparent, making us privy to the fact that the ‘Juicy’ singer was carrying plenty of candy wrapped in gold foil. If that wasn’t quirky enough, Doja Cat also accessorised her accessory with a sequinned JBL speaker.

An Extra Pouch

Coperni’s glass bag had its second Grammys red carpet moment when Tinashe showed up with a translucent, red version that was as glossy as her bubblegum pink GCDS gown. The R&B singer kept the bag’s contents secret with a pouch, but at least now we know that it can actually fit one.

Makeup

On the launch of her new beauty collection, Kylie Jenner opted to wear the devil-horned Swipe Bag, and she threw in what most of us would likely store inside the see-through accessory: a couple of lip products. Thanks to their baby pink exterior, the lipsticks became an accessory themselves.

Flowers

Heven began as a homeware brand, so it’s not surprising that even its take on a fashion accessory works so well as a distinctive piece of decor. The brand showcased the glass Coperni Swipe Bag being used as a vase for flowers, which would no doubt make a statement if you wore it as part of your outfit.
