The K-pop star turned heads with her striking colour choice at Paris Fashion Week
As the face of Dior, Blackpink’s Jisoo is known for championing a style sensibility that’s classy, feminine and undeniably French. While that has often translated into chic black ensembles, the K-pop star surprised fans when she arrived at Dior’s fall/winter 2023 fashion show flaunting the boldest colour choice she could make: purple.
Jisoo made her Paris Fashion Week appearance in a strapless dress that was cinched at the waist and lightly pleated along the skirt. Her gown mirrored the ’50s-inspired looks that Dior designer Maria Grazia Chiuri presented during the runway show, which Jisoo caught from the front row alongside fellow celebrity guests like Charlize Theron and Gal Gadot.

To complement her purple outfit, Jisoo opted for black accessories, namely a pair of strappy sandals and a Lady Dior handbag. Her beauty look also followed accordingly, with the singer donning black eyeliner, smoky eyeshadow makeup, as well as glossy black manicure.
Jisoo pulled off her purple ensemble with ease, offering a refreshing twist to the monochrome colour palette of her recent Paris Fashion Week appearances. Back in January, she graced Dior’s haute couture spring/summer 2023 show in a dreamy white dress, fitted with sheer sleeves and a prim collar. Before that, she exuded ladylike elegance in a little black dress when she attended the French fashion brand’s spring/summer 2023 show.

Jisoo isn’t the only style star to have made the case for purple over Barbiecore pink in 2023. Since Pantone announced Viva Magenta as its colour of the year, the likes of Kate Middleton and Emily in Paris’ Ashley Park have taken to wearing shades like plum, magenta, violet and lilac when making their public appearances. On the recent fall/winter 2023 runway shows, purple also proved to be popular, spotted at Burberry, Fendi, Emporio Armani and of course, Dior.
