The K-pop star transforms into a Mod fashion muse for the French luxury brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 campaign

Mod fashion is having a moment, and nothing makes that clearer than the new Dior campaign starring Jisoo.

In a new campaign film, the Blackpink singer sports an array of shift dresses, boxy, cropped jackets, A-line skirts and knee-high boots—all seemingly straight out of the swinging Sixties, but are actually from Dior’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

This season, the French luxury brand looked back to the clean, structured silhouettes created by former Dior artistic director Marc Bohan for the 1961 “Slim Look” collection. Influenced by the youth revolution of that era, Bohan made clothes that allowed for freedom of movement and offered flashes of colour.

Dior designer Maria Grazia Chiuri updated those optimistic offerings for the youths of today, imbuing her collection with a sense of sportiness via the use of sportswear techniques and flexible fabrics like techno satin mixed with recycled nylon. The vitality of Bohan’s designs is also mirrored in the collection’s colour palette, featuring bright green, pink and yellow.
