While in Paris, the K-pop star took the school girl-inspired look to the C-suite with one simple styling trick
Preppy fashion has been taking over the runway, the streets and our feeds for a while now, but it’s always refreshing to see someone put a fresh spin on the look. Enter Blackpink’s Lisa, who took to Instagram to show off a collegiate chic outfit that she wore while out and about in Paris.
The K-pop star expertly layered a cable knit wool sweater over a plaid collared shirt, a styling trick borrowed from Ivy League students of yore. To keep the look current, the Lalisa singer threw on a denim miniskirt and a pair of white high-top sneakers.
Unsurprisingly, most of the pieces that Lisa wore were by Celine, the French luxury fashion brand for which she is a global ambassador. But what stood out was the boxy black blazer she had on over her outfit, which came from Raf Simons’ Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

For SS22, the Belgian designer reinterpreted business dress codes with a genderless approach: “I wanted to work out a shape that works for both in the same way, even if your perception of the girl or the boy dressed in it is different,” said the designer.
One of the results is the blazer we see on Lisa, which boasts an oversized construction with broad, sloping shoulders. (A similar silhouette was spotted at the recent Prada FW22 collection, which Simons also designed.) With its androgynous look, the blazer rids Lisa’s outfit of its schoolgirl connotations and instead makes her appear bound for the boardroom.
