Food is an integral part of Chinese New Year celebrations with the reunion dinner serving as the centre of all festivities. From steamed fish and braised abalone to the yee sang and poon choi, Chinese New Year foods are meaningful in their own ways; the reunion dinner itself is symbolic of unity and togetherness during the season.

The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur
Li Yen at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur, which was recently included in the Michelin Selected - Kuala Lumpur list, has curated a range of traditional Lunar New Year feasts including its signature The Reunion Stars set.
The Reunion Stars set features a Hong Kong-style waxed meat claypot rice made with Chinese sausages flown in from Hong Kong and braised dried oysters with sea moss and dried fish maw. Alongside The Reunion Stars set, there are five other set menus to choose from, a range of yee sangs, a seasonal selection of dim sum ideal for family lunches, and Li Yen's traditional poon choi.
Prices
Set menus are priced from RM168++ per person with a minimum of two people to RM5,988++ per table of 10 people. Yee sang prices range from RM128++ to RM438++.

Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur
The hotel's award-winning Lai Po Heen has six variations of yee sang to choose from, including the MO Lucky Rabbit Yee Sang presented in the shape of a rabbit.
Each of the four set menus available caters to groups of different sizes and features dishes like Hong Kong-style steamed grouper fillet and steamed glutinous rice cakes with gold leaves and shredded coconut. There are also two dim sum menus to choose from for a festive lunch.
Prices
Set menus range from RM388+ to RM988+ per person. Dim sum sets are priced at RM288+ and RM388+. Minimum pax for set menus apply.
Yee sangs are available at RM168 to RM260 for half portions, and RM 336 to 520 for full portions. MO Lucky Rabbit Yee Sang is priced at RM1,000 for full portions, exclusive of prevailing taxes.

The RuMa Hotel and Residences
Spend the beginnings of the Year of the Rabbit with The RuMa Hotel & Residences and its seasonal exclusive cocktail offerings with Peddlers Gin Company. There will be three varieties of Peddlers available at Seven Lobby Bar: Craft Gin, Salted Plum Gin and Barrel Aged Gin.
To celebrate its introduction to the bar's lineup of liquors, there will be a battle between the two house favourites: the best-selling locally-made Ginfused Asaam Boi and newcomer Peddlers Salted Plum, which is the label's take on sloe gin infused with salted plum, mulberry, orange peel and osmanthus. Guests will then determine the ultimate winner between the two spirits.

In conjunction with Chinese New Year, Nobu Kuala Lumpur has introduced an all-new Lobster Prosperity Platter for guests to toss to the new year with. The platter features an array of vegetables and a fresh whole lobster to indulge in.
Additionally, it has also launched five new Chinese New Year Osusume desserts, which combine classic Chinese New Year flavours with signature Japanese dessert tastes for a quintessential Nobu dining experience.

The Hilton Kuala Lumpur's Chynna is paying homage to the the Rabbit’s traits of agility and good luck with its reunion set menus, premium yee sang selections and chef’s signature à la carte dishes.
There are four set menus are Wealth, Prosperity, Fortune and Grand Fortune, and five yee sang options for dine-in or takeaway. There is also a Chinese New Year supreme hotpot-style poon choi, served in a traditional claypot with layerings of seafood, meat and vegetables. This year, chef Lam Hock Hin is introducing a luxurious truffle and Tasmania ocean trout yee sang as Chynna’s signature offering.

The Grand Fortune set is priced at RM699 nett per person, while the other three sets start from RM1,300 nett to RM2,300 nett per table of five. Minimum pax apply.
A half portion of the signature Yee Sang is priced at RM158 nett and RM308 nett for a full portion. Other yee sangs are priced from RM148 nett.

Yun House at Four Seasons Kuala Lumpur is celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Water Rabbit with an elevated Cantonese menu filled with festive dishes made with prized auspicious ingredients–think Musang king durian, T'Lur caviar, lobster, and black truffle.
There are three set menus and an a la carte menu for you to choose from, all of which include delicious creations, courtesy of executive chef Jimmy Wong and his team. On Chinese New Year Eve, January 21, only the three set menus will be available.

Ming Ren Xuan, located in Avenue K, has curated five different set menus for you and your loved ones to enjoy. The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar is presenting a bountiful four-course Reunion Feast menu that highlights local ingredients and flavours. The meal starts off with a Golden Prosperity yee sang, featuring local vegetables like pegaga, ulam raja and sengkuang, sliced red dragon fruit, wild-caught smoked salmon, yam and sweet potato crisp, drizzled with citrus honey lemon dressing.
