The Hong Kong-born restaurant group celebrates a decade of hospitality and invites the city to join them this summer

It’s no easy feat to celebrate ten years in the restaurant business, let alone in Hong Kong, one of the world’s most food-crazy but quick-moving dining scenes. Black Sheep Restaurants, however, has spent the last ten years doing exactly that, successfully opening different brands that span restaurants (two of which have been awarded one Michelin star), bars, cake shops and food delivery.

"I can clearly remember that very first dinner service Chris and I had. Where the nerves and fear we were feeling were fighting with the adrenaline and excitement of opening the doors on something that was truly finally ours," says Syed Asim Hussain, founder of Black Sheep Restaurants along with Christopher Mark.

Making sure to celebrate the team that helped build Black Sheep Restaurants, the two founders have also opened a dedicated canteen in Soho which provides free meals for staff to use for breaks, to freshen up between shifts, and to relax and recharge. Mark adds, “It is a cliché but hospitality starts at home and we believe if we look after our team, they will be better placed to look after you, our guests.”

This summer, the restaurant group will also celebrate with a lineup of events and happenings to mark the occasion including complimentary drinks, limited edition menus, exclusive experiences and prizes, culminating in the first ever Black Sheep Gala, an invite-only event set to take place in September.

  • From now, until further notice, some of the restaurants’ most popular dishes from the past decade will return to their menus. This includes the keema pau at New Punjab Club, Carbone’s baked clams, and the yakiniku beef udon at Fukuro.

  • All guests dining at Black Sheep Restaurants from now until June 22 will receive a complimentary anniversary drink to thank them for being part of the group’s journey.

  • This year’s Black Sheep Summer Festival will take place in July and features new editions of the most loved events from the past ten years. From Buenos Aires Polo Club’s Rock Night to the second edition of the Great Rajasthan Rifles Cricket Tournament and much more. 

  • In August, their signature Black Series of curated menus will feature special editions to celebrate the ten year anniversary. This will also include complimentary experiences with experts from Black Sheep Restaurants on topics ranging from basic butchery to how to make the perfect Martini and more.

  • From June 27 until September 4, all guests that dine at any of their restaurants will be entered for a chance to win their next birthday celebration free of charge at Grand Majestic Sichuan, Crown Super Deluxe or Ho Lee Fook. One guest will be picked at random each week.
