Rich, vibrant, celebratory—five years in, and chef Palash Mitra continues to deliver glorious, full-throttle flavours at New Punjab Club. Every dish is majestic at this Punjabi grillhouse, where even Taiyouran eggs get the tandoor treatment—a fiendishly difficult preparation that pays dividends in still-gooey yolks topped with luscious langoustine. Buttery, flake-apart tandoori cobia, divinely moreish oxtail curry, even the complimentary spiced nuts… the hits just keep coming. Relaxed swagger is very much the order of the day here, with cushy leather banquettes to sink into, a retro gin trolley doing the rounds and warm service that’s determined to win you over by the meal’s end. Life-affirming stuff.
