Take a look at all the micro mini skirts and quirky bags that had fashion girlies in a chokehold this year
From Doja Cat’s Coperni Glass Swipe bag at 64th Grammy Awards to the TikTok-famous Arc'teryx waterproof jacket, there was no shortage of viral fashion moments that had everyone—including high-profile celebrities and their stylists—in a frenzy to get their own pieces. Before we head into the new year, Tatler takes a moment to reflect on the items that spread like wildfire online and had people around the world queuing up for days and nights, some only for an opportunity to get their hands on these coveted clothes and accessories.
1. Diesel B-Berny Belt Miniskirt
Since he was appointed as creative director of Diesel, Belgian fashion designer Glenn Martens has done the seemingly impossible task of making the Italian label relevant again. He dives into the brand's signature designs from its peak popularity during the '90s and early '00s and injects the same bold creativity he brings as the current creative director of Y/Project—without being afraid to provoke discourse.
The B-Berny Belt miniskirt is just another example of this winning combination and has been spotted on Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Le Sserafim's Yunjin and Jenna Ortega. It also went viral as people on TikTok and Instagram, upon procuring this tiny miniskirt for themselves, began to label it as 'unwearable' due to its length and inflexibility, starting a conversation on the environmental impact of trendy but impractical garments.

3. Coperni Glass Swipe bag
This piece of wearable art shot to fame when Doja Cat wore it with her custom Versace look to the Grammys—and went on to win her first award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with SZA. Since then, the Swipe glass bag, made by Coperni in collaboration with hand-blown glass company Heven, has been spotted on countless celebrities.
However, this was not the only time Coperni made headlines in 2022. During Paris Fashion Week, the French brand paid homage to the iconic Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 1999 runway show in which Shalom Harlow's dress was spray painted with machines. Coperni created a dress in real time on supermodel Bella Hadid by spraying on a special liquid-polymer by Fabrican.

5. Miu Miu Set
At the beginning of the year, the Miu Miu set became so beloved by celebrities and the fashion industry that someone made an Instagram page dedicated to it. This scandalously skimpy sweater set from the brand's spring/summer 2022 collection was seen on literally everyone we know, including influencers, Yoyo Cao and Chiara Ferragni, and certified stars like Nicole Kidman and Saweetie.
