Art in the Park Online
After the successful run of the hybrid version of Art Fair Philippines, its organisers such as Asia's Most Influential 2021 Honourees Trickie Lopa and Lisa Ongpin-Periquet, as well as Dindin Araneta bring back Art in the Park Online this coming April 24. Available for viewing until May 1, the event features a diverse group of galleries, art schools, independent art spaces, and collectives. As usual, it will be showcasing enthralling pieces of art priced at PHP 70,000 and below. Proceeds are still for the benefit of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines.
This year's online edition of Art in the Park will also highlight the works of artist couple Rodel Tapaya and Marina Cruz. IsTorya, the narrative design studio that they have founded celebrates creativity, love of identity, and new ways of learning that root back to the stories of the Filipinos. Each of the artists will be presenting solo projects that underline their ongoing interests in experimentation with various media.
Meanwhile, Studio 1616—which includes artists like Yeo Kaa and Johanna Helmuth, to name a few—will be celebrating their ten years together by installing Reflect Deflect at Jaime Velasquez Park. Using steel and mirrors as reflective surfaces, the work reminds visitors of the tents of Art in the Park before and encourages visitors to examine themselves more closely.
Don't miss also the live installation of ten three-foot-high resin sculptures of street artist Distort Monsters, which will be complementing the artist's NFTs and giclee prints from the "Monster Mayhem Megamash" project. Furthermore, Ang INK will also present a collection of 40 artworks in celebration of the organisation's 30th anniversary.
