Lisa Ongpin-Periquet is a co-founder of Art Fair Philippines, Art in the Park and Salcedo Market

Coming from a family of art connoisseurs, Lisa Ongpin-Periquet took a keen interest in arts and culture. Her great-grandfather Alfonso Ongpin was one of the most significant art collectors before the war, and his life has always piqued Ongpin-Periquet’s curiosity.

It was a no-brainer that she would pursue a career in arts, starting with completing her Art History degree at the University of Virginia. She had a short stint at Phillips Auction in London before returning to Manila and working with the Museum Foundation. Through her love for arts, Ongpin-Periquet would cross paths with Trickie Lopa and Dindin de Borja Araneta, who would later become her partners in running Art Fair Philippines. This annual event features the works of contemporary and iconic artists across various media. The trio also founded Art in the Park, an annual outdoor art event in Salcedo Village.

Art Fair Philippines returned to its original home in The Link in 2023 after two years of online and hybrid editions due to the pandemic. The following year, 55 exhibitors from around the world showcased various works. The fair has grown exponentially since its first iteration in 2013, taking on participants, collectors and institutions worldwide. Art Fair Philippines 2024 had close to 25 per cent of galleries come in from abroad.

Outside of the arts, Ongpin-Periquet is the wife of businessman and financier Anton Periquet, and the mother of three children. She also helped establish Salcedo Market in 2006, a popular weekend community hotspot offering diverse food and artisanal products.
