Borrowing inspiration from the natural verdant surroundings, the couple also worked alongside Midori Works to bring elements of the outdoors into their home, and local retailer Space Furniture to complement their existing furnishings with new pieces that match their aesthetic and lifestyle.

Bringing Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to life, Caroline Lim’s 6,135 sq ft detached house received a dramatic transformation by architect Edmund Ng with faux-classical and gothic elements throughout the abode. A lover of the fine arts, Lim’s abode is sprawling with collections of her artwork cascaded from the front door into all the nooks, passageways, rooms, and gardens—not to mention a uniquely personal touch of pencil and watercolour drawings by the homeowner herself.

Combining architect Goy Zhenru’s passion for craftsmanship with Southeast Asian roots, the Singapore-based design practice turned a young couple’s 2,000 sq ft residence into a cosy modern yet tropical haven. Turning to a strong use of natural materials and textures, the home takes a page from the legacy of Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa and his contribution to tropical modernist architecture—such as the choice of large-format ceramic tiles as flooring. Chiangmai-based Saraphi Ceramics Arts and Design also collaborated to create bespoke custom ceramics and furnishings visible throughout the home’s interiors.
