Serene Tan tells us more about how she embraces her love of entertaining in her beautiful kitchen that’s equipped with V-Zug appliances

Among her friends, Serene Tan is known as a fabulous host. The amicable society darling shares that she “inherited” that love of entertaining from her mother, who would often organise elegant and exquisite meals with her family and loved ones. “My parents are very fond of laying the table. We’re used to having dinners with table settings, whether [it’s done] in Chinese or western style. My love of decorating also stemmed from my mum; she’s very home proud,” says Tan.

And one of the most charming spaces in the couple’s current abode in Sentosa Cove is the open-plan space that unites the living area, dining room and kitchen; this is where the couple holds their impressive house parties and cosy gatherings. Fitted with appliances from Swiss brand V-Zug, the kitchen is the perfect accompaniment to their beautiful dining zone, forming the heart of their home.

“We selected V-Zug because of the Swiss-made appliances' quality and reliability. The aftersales service is also an essential factor because that would take care of the day-to-day technical issues should any arise; and I must say that V-Zug's after-sales service is one of the best, with a very prompt response time,” shares Tan.

The product training sessions are arranged for owners in their homes at their convenience, after the installation of the appliances. Customers can contact the V-Zug team to learn more about the product features as well as sign up for weekly culinary workshops; training sessions related to cleaning and maintenance are conducted to assist domestic helpers in handling the appliances. 

Adds Tan: “The training session gave me many opportunities to ask questions and discuss preparing common daily dishes, making it practical and informative. I enjoyed it and appreciated that the chefs made it fun!”

Additionally, the Swiss brand offers a chef-on-demand service to homeowners who have purchased the kitchen appliances. The service entails the provision of a multi-course menu tailored to the needs of each occasion using the V-Zug ovens and hobs in the home.

From scrumptious meals with Asian touches to exquisite modern European dishes, the chef-on-demand team will help realise a restaurant-worthy feast in the comforts of the owner’s residence.

For this occasion, Tan opted for a six-course menu curated by chef Triston Fang, one of the chefs from V-Zug’s chef-on-demand service.

Realised in collaboration with V-Zug Singapore, the menu comprised of dishes that include sous vide salmon, smoked Hokkaido scallops, baked Chilean seabass and slow-cooked beef short ribs, the elegant meal received rave reviews from the couple and their guests alike while demonstrating the precision of the V-Zug appliances used in the cooking process.

“I love the V-Zug chef-on-demand service. As a host, you can leave the meal preparation to the chefs while you take care of other hosting details, like flower arrangements,” says Tan. “The V-Zug chefs were well prepared and had such passion and enthusiasm.”

Altogether, these thoughtful details add up to a memorable dining experience for the owners and their guests. “A positive food experience is often different and unique for most people. It is not about eating, it's about experiencing it, enjoying it, and creating memories,” says Tan. “The moments with the V-Zug chefs made the party extraordinary; the stress-free involvement during the dinner and the chefs’ engagement with my guests were what I appreciated the most.”
