Welcome to Foodie Finds! This is an article series by Tatler, chronicling where and what to order according to the food-obsessed.

I myself have never understood non-foodies. How can one not love flavours, spices, aromas and all the cultural nuances and memories that come with every bite? Dining is an experience meant to be savoured and is even more fun when shared with loved ones. Dining around a table means sharing, conversing, bonding and learning. A dish can tell you so much about a person, a culture, and a country. It speaks volumes of a nation's history and is an art form on its own. Skilled hands are trained over years or are born out of pure passion and practice. Professional chefs and home cooks alike, from young stars to grandmothers, have been cooking up meals filled with emotion and have truly made us foodies, happy.

Through Foodie Finds, we ask our epicurean friends to share their favourites. In this feature, we tackle takeout and delivery. Hear what mother, wife, and major food-lover Jet Acuzar has to say. She shares her go-to shops for takeout here:

1. Vegan 305

@vegan305ph | Photo: Instagram / @neonvix

Vegan 305 makes the best vegan dishes. It's so delicious that you forget what you are eating is vegan. Her pâté, brownies and joule balls are all amazing and it is especially a treat for folks looking for something genuinely healthy. I'm not vegan... but every time I'm feeling like being healthier when I snack, I order her treats. I feel good when I eat the lovely food she makes.

2. A Home Kewk

@ahomekewk

They have a fantastic veggie burger that kids love too. I am still dreaming about Bea's (Bea Ledesma) collaboration with Miko Calo of Metronome. The beetroot coconut curry was a real winner I ordered it numerous times!

3. Berrys Deli

@berrysdeliph

Berrys Deli makes the best bacon, hotdogs and other preservative-free sausages. The truffle pasta sauce is a huge hit at home.

4. Choomp Choomp

@choompchoomp

The best Japanese oysters and yuzu juice are from Choomp Choomp. They make the softest black pepper steak, wonderful roast duck, and lemon chicken. All their Chinese options are made without any MSG or preservatives so that's an added bonus!

5. Polaris Fine Foods

@polarisfinefoods

Whenever I want to treat myself to Japanese, this is my go-to. The freshest and most beautifully packaged sushi, and it's such a pleasure dealing with their staff who are so well trained and polite.

@wintersquash_

Monique Santos Roxas's Spanish/Segovian cochinillo is the best I've had this side of the Pacific–it's just so perfectly cooked! It has become somewhat of a staple in our family gatherings.

7. Baytown's Fruit Delivery

 @baytownsproduce

They offer so much more than excellent fruit. Their Hokkaido butter is the very best–my children and I wipe it out so fast. They also have incredible hard to find things I love, like Bovril: which is a beef-based Marmite that is incredible as a broth or to top off buttered toast.

8. Wildflour

@wildflourmanila

Wildflour, to me, makes the best sourdough bread and just the most wonderful things overall. Their mascarpone focaccia is incredible!

9. Tsukiji

@tsukiji

Tsukiji always makes me feel like I am dining at a friend's house, where they're making sure I eat well. Their special chirashi and yakiniku is my favourite.

10. Chef Iyay Ignacio's Mouldy Blooms

@mouldyblooms

I met Iyay right before the pandemic when she catered my sister's bachelorette and made this amazing Mexican feast! I am definitely asking her to cater just as soon as the pandemic ends. She makes the best mushroom chips with this wonderful vinegar dip. The mushrooms are great as well and can stand their ground next to any other chanterelle.
