Explore Ampang’s dining scene with the help of this guide

When exploring a neighbourhood, you don’t typically frequent or venturing through your own suburb, picking a spot to eat can prove quite the task. Ampang may not be coveted by foodies for its dining scene, but nestled on its laneways are hidden gems and longstanding restaurants worthy of a visit. The area sprawls across the border of the Klang Valley, bridging the city centre and Ulu Kelang’s lush greenery, making it somewhat intimidating to navigate.

A slew of neighbourhood cafés, global cuisines, and established dining venues are housed in Ampang, in between the bustle of KL and the serenity of nature reserves. We’ve put together a handy guide that you can refer to the next time you’re in the area. From an intimate café within the walls of a heritage museum to an izakaya-style pasta joint, you’ll be able to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and maybe even dessert in Ampang.
