This restaurant has an amazingly romantic setting, making it the perfect destination for a date. The restaurant exudes a zen-like ambiance that makes it very calming and relaxing. Tables are arranged spaciously apart and the external noise is almost non-existent. The restaurant does an amazing job at making guests feel like they’re are at a holiday resort, an amazing feat considering it’s situated downtown. Warm lighting, floral decorations and Buddha-themed statues add to the ambiance and make for an incredible dining location.

The food served here is a mix of Indochinese and Vietnamese cuisine, making for an extremely interesting and extensive menu. Dishes are made for sharing and are best taken with rice. Start the meal with Laotian grilled beef and lemongrass salad, a very spicy but tasty dish with generous portioning. The slight sting from the fish sauce enhances the flavours of the tender beef, onions and lemongrass mix. Highly recommended if you like spicy food.

The Phnom Penh style Wagyu beef loc lak with lime and black pepper, a slightly zesty and peppery beef dish goes very well with rice. It is a tasty offering that pairs well with the stir-fried spinach with garlic, with the vegetables providing a garlicky crunch to complement the sumptuous beef dish.

The crispy deep-fried jungle ferns, a platter made up of eggplant mushroom and ladies fingers, is also delightfully crunchy and tasty. With an accompanying special green sauce, this delicious offering is enhanced.

The crispy deep-fried soft shell crab in Tamarind Spring’s spicy sauce is also highly recommended, a perfectly fried tasty shellfish in an equally appetising sauce that pairs perfectly with the other dishes ordered

The Argentinian Malbec is recommended by the waiters and goes well with the dishes here. The wine is fairly full bodied with a tinge sweetness. The wine list is not extensive but they do have a great selection of red and white wines. For those not into wine, the restaurant also has other spirits at the bar.

The service at the restaurant is excellent! Staff members are kind, well mannered and helpful. Waiters are incredibly knowledgeable about the foods as well as the wines that pair well with them. The staff seem like they have passion for their craft, which is a refreshing sight. Water and wine is frequently filled and chats with the staff regarding the history of the restaurant is also informative. The delicious food is made all the better with the great service.
