Junglebird, Coley, Three X Co, and Backdoor Bodega earned spots on the 2024 edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51-100 list
An annual showcase of the best bars across Asia, Asia’s 50 Best Bars has released its 2024 edition of its 51-100 list in the lead-up to its July 16, 2024, ceremony.
Taking place this year in Hong Kong, the ceremony is set to unveil the crème de la crème of Asia’s drinks scene as voted on by a 265-member panel of bartenders, bar owners, writers, and cocktail enthusiasts.
This year’s list spotlights bars spanning 19 Asian cities, including four entries from Malaysia.

At No. 80 sits Junglebird, one of Bukit Damansara’s most venerated bars. The tropical rum-focused bar has remained a fixture on Asia’s Best Bars lists since 2018, placing 35th in 2022 and 55th in 2023. Named after a homegrown cocktail, its 2017 launch pioneered a new era for Kuala Lumpur’s bar scene, platforming locally influenced mixology and single-spirit-focused spots.
Crowned Malaysia’s best bar in 2019, Bangsar’s Coley has been awarded the title of 70th best bar in Asia. The cocktail bar has consistently made it onto Asia’s 50 Best Bars lists, and for good reason. Its newfound spot comes after a recent menu revamp, pairing its renowned cocktails and frequent takeovers with a food programme to match.

Three X Co, another Bangsar-based bar, has received a spot on the list, coming in 56th. This marks its fourth appearance on one of Asia’s Best Bars lists after its debut at 47th place in 2021 and 70th spot in 2022. It has made headway in local and regional bar scenes, moving up the list by 21 places after last year’s title of 77th best bar in Asia.

Topping Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51-100 list in 2024 for Malaysia is Backdoor Bodega, one of Penang’s most celebrated cocktail bars. The George Town bar made its debut on a 51-100 list in 2022, coming in at No. 97. Its climb to the top has earned it 52nd place this year, falling second to Seoul’s Soko.
Singapore proved the most represented country on the list, earning a total of eight spots with Last Word at No. 93, 28 Hong Kong Street at No. 78, Cat Bite Club at No. 77, Republic at No. 57, and more. Bangkok followed closely with six of its bars on the list, from Dry Wave Cocktail Studio at No. 98 to Tropic City at No. 62.
