From Martell’s Baccarat-crowned cognac to Johnnie Walker’s couture-inspired Blue Label, discover the standout bottles and gifting collections set to elevate reunion dinners and celebrations this Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year, which falls on 17 February, is just around the corner. That means it’s almost time for homecomings and celebratory meals, best enjoyed with meaningful toasts that welcome the Year of the Horse. Symbolising momentum and success, this spirited zodiac has inspired the world’s leading wine and spirit houses to reimagine their prized expressions and limited-edition releases as objets d’art.
The appeal of these Chinese New Year editions lies not only in the liquid itself, but also in the way master artisans and heritage houses interpret the horse’s symbolic power. This year is particularly special: it marks the Fire Horse, a rare convergence that occurs only once every 60 years, when the animal sign aligns with its elemental counterpart.
Martell

A jewel of the season, Martell’s L’Or de Jean Martell Zodiac Edition – Assemblage du Cheval arrives in a strictly limited run of 500 individually numbered bottles. Created by Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud, the blend draws on rare, very old eaux-de-vie—primarily from Grande Champagne—to express the horse’s nobility, vitality and controlled power. Housed in a Baccarat-crafted decanter crowned with a deep red crystal horse-head stopper, it is a fittingly majestic tribute to the zodiac animal.
To bring the release to life, the House of Martell is also hosting an open-house experience at Ion Orchard’s B4 Indoor Atrium from February 5 to 12, inviting the public to step into its world of craftsmanship and celebration.

Inside, the whiskies remain as expressive as ever: the 12-Year-Old offers notes of apple pie, caramel and almonds; the 15-Year-Old leans into spiced pears, toffee and marmalade; while the 18-Year-Old delivers deeper flavours of caramel, vanilla and raisins.
