Cover Asia’s 50 Best Bars 51-100 list: The Enigma Mansion in Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest climb, ascending 38 places to No 55

The region’s cocktail map is spreading, with first-time bar entries from Hangzhou, Beijing, Galle and Makati

Asia’s 50 Best Bars has unveiled its extended 51-100 list for 2026, and the region’s cocktail scene continues to spread beyond its usual capitals. The sixth edition of the ranking, announced today ahead of the live 50 Best ceremony in Macau on 28 July, spans 25 cities across Asia with 11 new entries.

Singapore remains the gold standard, claiming seven spots on the extended list. BOP (No 52), the Jigger & Pony Group’s Korean cocktail dining bar, debuts as the highest-ranked new entry, joined by Side Door (No 57), Bar Bon Funk (No 90), and re-entries The Elephant Room (No 58) and Stay Gold Flamingo (No 97). Native (No 80) and Cat Bite Club (No 86) round out the city-state’s formidable showing. But Kuala Lumpur is gaining fast, with four bars making the cut: Reka (No 63), Penrose (No 64), Cabinet 8 (No 65) and Coley (No 83).

Hong Kong claims three spots, led by The Opposites (No 54), the mixology playground from veterans Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok. The Savory Project (No 60) brings a culinary-inspired twist, while Tell Camellia (No 81) re-enters with its tea-meets-cocktail concept.

Tokyo and Seoul each field four bars. Tokyo’s Bar Trench re-enters at No 53, while The Bar at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo makes a prestigious new entry at No 75. Osaka’s Bar Nayuta climbed 30 places to No 70, signalling growing recognition for Japan’s secondary cities. Seoul delivers another strong year, headed by Gong Gan (No 74), housed within a traditional hanok. Charles H rises to No 87, with Le Chamber (No 88) and Soko (No 89) rounding out the capital’s presence.

Bangkok maintains its steady presence with four entries: Vesper (No 56), Messenger Service (No 69), Mahaniyom Cocktail Bar (No 76) and Firefly (No 78). Taipei claims three spots with Bar Mood (No 82), The Public House (No 92) and Lab (No 99). Ho Chi Minh City’s The Enigma Mansion recorded the highest climb, ascending 38 places to No 55, a remarkable rise that reflects Vietnam’s growing profile within Asia’s bar rankings.

Beyond the usual capitals, Mainland China is expanding its footprint. Shanghai’s Coa (No 95) holds steady, but the real story is geographic: Hangzhou debuts with Chimney (No 91), and Beijing enters the ranking for the first time with Bar Long Fong (No 96). First-time entries from Galle (Ropewalk at No 93) and Makati (The Spirits Library at No 98) signal a widening of the Academy’s gaze. Jakarta, too, is making moves. Between the Sips (No 73) and Hats Bar (No 77) mark the Indonesian capital’s growing maturity.

From Kathmandu’s Barc (No 61) to Phnom Penh’s Sora (No 100), the geography of Asian cocktail culture is broader than ever. The old guard: Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong remain anchors, but the centres of gravity are multiplying. The full Top 50 will be announced at Wynn Palace, Macau, on July 28.
