Few restaurants celebrate the diversity of Filipino cuisines like Linamnam, where chef Don Baldosano serves modern tasting menus inspired by his countless travels and extensive research. Currently located in his family’s backyard, the space has been converted into a totally outdoor restaurant with a makeshift bahay kubo serving as the main dining area.

Found at the 31st floor of Vivere Hotel, The Nest grants diners a unique view of the cityscape and Laguna de Bay. So, when chef Tina Legarda announced they would be moving to a new location, many were worried they were leaving the quaint neighbourhood—thankfully, they moved right next door. The all-new 57 Aguirre address features a not-so-secret backyard for al fresco dining, rich with the same quirk and charm as the original.

9. Tiago’s

One of the newest players in the fine dining scene, Tiago’s is a modern European restaurant on the terrace of Somerset Alabang Manila. Helmed by the creative minds behind The Black Pig, the tasting menu is a wonderful showcase of chef Carlos Garcia Rodriguez’s experience in Michelin starred kitchens around the world, infused with his proud Spanish heritage as well.

Tatler Tip: Tiago’s is strictly by reservations only requires a minimum of one day’s notice. For the best views, request a table at the elevated viewing deck.

10. Bar Pintxos

Much like its newer BGC branch, the original Bar Pintxos outpost in Alabang is a hidden gastronomic escape, rich with delectable tapas, potent sangria, and other Spanish specialities. Found at the rear entrance of Don Gesu Building, it’s a great option for those who prefer to dine in privacy while still having the safer experience of dining outdoors.

11. Bungalow Café & Bakery

Location: Alabang, Muntinlupa City

Known for their pastries and global bistro fare, Bungalow Café & Bakery marries Western brunch classics and Filipino flavours, a  penchant that extends to their relaxed tropical design. With refreshing slushies and cocktails available throughout the day, the Bungalow experience is best enjoyed under the sun’s warm glow, ricotta toast in hand.
