A Black Tie Affair: Tatler and Chopard Host 007-Themed Dinners at Tatler House
Embodying the elegance and glamour of the 007 franchise, esteemed guests suited up in elegant tuxedos and ball gowns to attend a mysterious soirée at Tatler House, an exclusive venue at Mandarin Oriental Hotel overlooking the iconic skyline of Kuala Lumpur.
Upon arrival, our 10 guests were welcomed by a woman in black and given a role card and strict directive to uncover the identity of Miss Z, a notorious femme fatale with a plot to infiltrate the party and steal the precious jewels on dazzling display inside.
Exquisite Chopard creations, including pieces from their Golden Hearts 007 Collection and Green Carpet high jewellery collection, frosted the rooms of Tatler House—the most vibrant of them all being the necklace set with 43 carats of pear-shaped diamonds that Ana de Armas, who plays the scene-stealing Paloma, wears in the movie.
Our guests were invited to try on these magnificent pieces, all the while keeping their eyes and ears on high alert to try and suss out the femme fatale among them.
They take their seat at the dining table. Awaiting them was an extravagant culinary experience prepared by Chef Gérald Genson, executive chef of Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which began with delicately-flavoured seafood starters before leading to entrées cooked to perfection and finishing strong with an absolutely indulgent Petite Antoine dessert made from sea salt caramel, feuillentine, praline cream, and hazelnut sponge.
And of course, one of the most popular drinks on offer at the table was James Bond's favourite drink: martinis, shaken not stirred.
Over the delicious four-course meal, conversation and cocktails were flowing freely as the guests got to know each other, each remembering to slip in a question that may hint at the identity of this mysterious femme fatale.
After the meal, the guests reconvened in the lounge overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers for a discussion of their suspicions on who among them was Miss Z before making their final decision. The femme fatale revealed herself, bringing a delightful end to the mystery and allowing for the real games to begin.
Picking up the pool cues, the gentlemen and ladies mingled over the billiards table, sharing their varying opinions about the 25th movie instalment of the 007 franchise, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond for the last time.
To commemorate the night of intrigue and mystery, guests also posed in Chopard jewellery for 007-themed photos before heading home.
