Less of a traditionalist and more of a tastemaker, Small Laude approaches collecting with intuition, individuality and an enviable sense of style
On a slightly more overcast day in the middle of a persistent heatwave, Small Laude graciously meets us at Solaire Resort North to share her exquisite watch collection. It’s one she built quite unintentionally, she says. Several diamond-studded pieces catch the eye, but her hand flutters over it all, and she reaches for her elegant Patek Philippe Nautilus. Smiling, she remarks, “This one you’ll usually see me wearing in my vlogs.”
With over two million subscribers on her eponymous YouTube channel and a dedicated following across her social media pages, Small Laude is among the country’s most beloved stars today. Her effervescent energy and candid humour, combined with glimpses into her life of leisure and luxury, have captivated the internet and made her a source of both entertainment and inspiration.

Beneath all the playful charm is a woman with a finely tuned aesthetic and a sharp eye for detail. And nowhere is that more evident than in her timepieces, which are each as chic and charismatic as she is.

Because her sister, Alice Eduardo, is a shrewd collector as well, I ask if someone had influenced this appreciation for timepieces in both of them. “Yes, my mum played a big role in my love for watches,” Laude reveals. “She loved them herself and would buy me cute, stylish ones when I was younger. That’s really where my interest in collecting began.”
Laude may not approach collecting with the solemn reverence of a traditional horologist—she doesn’t need to. She wears her watches the way she wears everything else: with personality, grace and a sense of purpose.
In this interview with Tatler GMT, she shares her approach to curation, the story behind her most sentimental timepiece and the brand at the top of her wish list.

Tell us how you built your collection. How has it evolved over time?
My collection started almost quite unintentionally. I would treat myself to a piece here and there whenever something caught my eye. Over the years, I didn’t realise I was building a good collection I was proud to call mine. Thankfully, I’ve become more thoughtful and intentional in choosing ones that blend craftsmanship, style and sentiment. My family advises me too, so that helps a lot!

How would you describe your taste in watches?
I’m not the biggest fan of diamond watches, although I have a handful in my collection. Of course, my choice depends on the occasion. I love wearing dainty, elegant watches for parties or formal events when I’m more dressed up. For everyday wear, I gravitate toward sporty watches that are more versatile and casual.

These days, what is your go-to watch?
Lately, I rotate between my Patek Philippe Nautilus with a leather strap and my Rolex Daytona. Both are timeless, elegant and reliable as everyday staples.
Out of all the beautiful timepieces you own, which one has the most sentimental value or story behind it?
The most special watch would be the one my sister Alice gifted to me during one of our trips to Singapore. At the time, we were accompanying our dad for a medical treatment. It was a difficult and emotional period for us. However, we found moments of lightness, one of which was shopping together. The watch was more than just a piece. It holds memories of love, resilience and family.

Are there any particular models or brands on your wishlist?
I’d love to add more Patek Philippes to my collection, which I will eventually pass on to my kids. Watches are important to our family, and I want my children to inherit these special gifts from me.
