From bedazzled frocks to sharp suits, it was the season for festive celebration as guests explored Valentino's Pre-Collection in an intimate fashion showcase
A bastion of style and sophistication, Valentino has long been synonymous with sartorial grace. Suffice to say, the maison’s long storied history—more than six decades long—is firmly woven into the fabric of fashion history, from haute couture runways to red carpets. Under the creative stewardship of creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the Roman powerhouse has not only maintained its legacy but also forged a bold path of reinvention.
On the evening of November 16, the Valentino boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands was quietly buzzing with the chatter of guests and the clinking of champagne flutes. The occasion? An intimate event hosted by Tatler Singapore to unveil the brand’s Pre-Collection.
The showcase certainly came at the right time. As the festive season draws close and year-end fêtes and soirees beckon, it was the perfect opportunity for our select group of fashion insiders to discover party-ready looks from Valentino—from fabulous frocks to sharp suits and arm candy galore.

Creative director and fashion stylist Furqan Saini helmed the evening’s festivities as he presented six specially-curated looks and shared his personal anecdotes about the brand. “I have been a fan of Valentino since the ’80s and under the brilliant Pierpaolo Piccioli, every single piece from the Pre-Collection is a knockout,” he noted.
The showcase was off to a strong start with a striking opening look: a mini dress with cutouts in Valentino’s signature hot pink hue. Furqan pointed out the meticulously crafted rosette detail: “The savoir faire of the maison is in full effect here. It takes hours and two artisans to create the rosette as it is hand cut, pieced together and then trimmed in organza.”

This was just one of the several standout dresses presented. Among them, a sophisticated LBD with rhinestone straps and delicate bow details. To amp up the glam factor of the dress, Furqan accessorised it with a pair of crystal embellished heels and an unexpected twist: the Carry Secrets bucket bag with multicoloured sequin fringes.
Another winning look that caught everyone’s attention was the rosette bust sleeveless mini dress. Valentino’s iconic rose motif bloomed once again with its playful yet elegant rose appliqué bust detail—and then paired perfectly with a pair of Rockstud pumps and a crimson Locò bag for a pop of colour.

The gentlemen were not forgotten. Two men’s looks were presented—first was a streetwear-inspired ensemble featuring a bomber jacket with embroidered sequins and bezels, paired with a pair of nylon pants with the subtle Toile Iconographe pattern. The next look was centred around a timeless menswear staple: a sharply tailored double-breasted suit with a scarf collar. For both looks, Furqan accessorised them with a black calfskin Locò bag with the Swarovski-encrusted V logo to create “the perfect mix of masculinity and femininity in one look.”
After the presentation, the evening continued as guests were treated to champagne and canapes as they explored Valentino’s full collection. Three more additional looks were unveiled as the models strutted around the boutique for guests to take a closer look. Some attendees also took the opportunity to mingle with Furqan; he personally attended to each of them and shared valuable tips to pick out the perfect outfit for the upcoming festive season.
