Cover Tatler Singapore celebrated the unveiling of this year's Tatler Ball theme with a lavish soiree at Valentino

We celebrated the unveiling of this year's Tatler Ball theme with a lavish soirée at the Valentino boutique in Ion Orchard

With the biggest social event of the year just around the corner, many of us have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of this year’s theme. Well, the wait is finally over—September 28 saw Tatler friends gather at Valentino in Ion Orchard for the unveiling of this year’s Tatler Ball theme.

Tatler Singapore’s managing director Stephanie Tay began the night with a toast. “At Tatler Ball, we always celebrate people and friendship… what inspires us are the people here—individuals that are always contributing, creating and making their mark,” she said.

This year’s theme, Make Your Mark, celebrates people who have made an impact in Singapore and around the world. Of course, our friends are also encouraged to make their mark on the red carpet at this year’s ball. Whether through bold and striking silhouettes or an outfit that pays homage to your favourite designers, this year’s theme is by no means restrictive.

The evening continued as Tatler Singapore’s branded content editor and resident fashion monster Adriel Chiun dished out styling tips while introducing some noteworthy pieces from Valentino’s Black Tie collection. “What they do at Valentino is perfect because it’s timeless and daring,” he shared.

A total of six stunning looks from the collection were presented as models made their way around the boutique. Standout pieces of the evening included an elegant beaded tulle gown for the ladies and a two-tone off-white suite for the gents.

Chiun also showed guests how to complete their look with the right make-up and accessories. He picked out the Valentino Garavani Loco bag in embroidery animations for its minimal silhouette and recognisable style. He also talked about how to use a sexy smoky eye and a chic red lip to elevate one’s beauty look.

Following the styling workshop, guests had the opportunity to explore the Black Tie collection while savouring canapés and champagne.
