The 2022 Met Gala In America: An Anthology of Fashion took place in New York last night, and celebrities took to the red carpet wearing their interpretations of the theme "Gilded Glamour and White Tie". The looks ranged from subtle, with details inspired by the Gilded Age seen in accessories and silhouettes, to full-on, with fabulous displays of colour and volume from the period.

Among the attendees were a number of Asian celebrities, including the likes of Gen Z pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Conan Gray, who rocked up wearing shimmering ensembles in shades of lavender and silver, respectively. Models Jung Ho-Yeon and He Cong took different avenues with the American theme, with the former opting for a denim mini-dress and the latter choosing a metallic moment.
Men were more daring with their looks too, as actor Riz Ahmed tucked his trousers into boots and model Evan Mock flashed a but of hip while wearing a corset top. Finally, we saw not one, but two major Schiaparelli moments, with Natasha Poonawalla and Nichapat Suphap wearing sculptural pieces from the spring-summer 2022 collection.
