From the Paddock Club to the parties, here’s how to show up in style during the Singapore Grand Prix

After a two-year hiatus, the Singapore Grand Prix is finally back on track and set to return this September. Our urban city will be the stage for the highly anticipated Formula One (F1) races with star drivers like Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in attendance, as well as a host of events, concerts and parties around the island.

In short, the Formula One festivities are pretty much the biggest social events on our calendars this month, so why not show up for them in your finest outfits? Below, discover how to serve up style no matter where you’re catching the action from during the F1 weekend.

Formula One Paddock Club

If you’ve scored tickets to the best seats in the house, you may as well dress like it. The official dress code calls for “smart casual” outfits, which means covered shoes are preferred. We suggest a stylish pair of loafers with a sporty flair, visible through their colours or a striped detail. Speaking of colours, wearing official team merchandise is frowned upon, but you can also still show your support through you clothing choices. Show up in a red-hot ensemble if you’re a Ferrari fan rooting for Charles Leclerc, or sport a nice cool blue as a nod to the current F1 champion, Max Verstappen.

The Grandstands

Out in the grandstands, comfort is key. You’ll be doing a lot of walking and waiting, and you don’t want to ruin your F1 experience with the wrong pair of shoes. You can’t go wrong with a pair of sneakers, especially one like the Adidas Gazelle. The shoes are versatile enough to go with almost anything you may choose to wear, like a casual tank top and your favourite cargo pants. You’ll also need to bring all your essentials—like your water bottle for staying hydrated, and your umbrella for staying dry—so opt for a roomy bag that you can easily carry around.

Concerts

Whether you’re rocking out to Green Day or raving to DJ Marshmello’s set, you’ll be in for a good time at the concerts that are lined up for the Formula One weekend. Be sure to dress in clothes that you can dance in, and maybe even hit the clubs in later in the night. A corset and jeans combo is easy enough to pull off, and can go from grungy to hip-hop depending on the musical act you’re seeing. A pair of platform boots wouldn’t hurt, too—it’ll give you an extra boost in height once you’re in the crowd.
