The SSI Group, Inc, the force behind the country’s finest retail experiences, recently rolled out the red carpet for four iconic brands—Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe and Versace—in Cebu City

Cebu City, known for its azure seas and vibrant festivals, just turned up the heat on luxury fashion. The SSI Group, Inc, the force behind the country’s finest retail experiences, recently rolled out the red carpet for four iconic brands—Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe and Versace—at the posh NuStar Mall, supporting its reputation as a rising hub for high-end shopping.

The opening event went beyond mere retail expansion. As Anthony Tantoco Huang, CEO & president of Rustan Commercial Corporation, SSI Group of Companies and Rustan Marketing Corporation, noted, “Bringing these flagship stores to Cebu at The Mall | NUSTAR is a testament to our commitment to providing a world-class shopping experience. Cebu’s emerging luxury retail landscape is the perfect canvas for the unique appeal of Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe and Versace.”

“In Manila, we cater to the local Filipino clientele, which has always been our foundation over the past 70-odd years. Cebu presents a new opportunity, serving not only the local Cebuanos but also the tourism market that visits the city,” Huang adds.

The affair, naturally, was a who’s who of the country’s style icons. Nadine Lustre, Sofia Andres and BJ Pascual, among others, brought Loewe’s quiet elegance to life. Meanwhile, the fresh, experimental flair of Kenzo found embodiment in Michelle Dee, Leila Alcasid and fashion designer and 2024 Gen.T honouree Chris Nick

Gabbi Garcia and LA Aguinaldo, who is also an Asia’s Most Stylish honouree, made a bold statement in Givenchy’s contemporary streetwear-meets-haute couture pieces, while Versace’s opulence radiated through the looks of Angelique Manto, Verniece Enciso and Liz Uy. Each personality became a visual proclamation of the brands’ unique ethos—delivering Cebu its most glamorous soirée to date.

And indeed, each boutique at Nustar stands as a curated work of art. Givenchy’s boutique invites shoppers into an immersive experience with its Fall/Winter 2024 collection. Showcasing the Voyou and Antigone Cube bags against a refined stone-grey backdrop, the store captures the sophistication and timeless allure that defines Givenchy.

The Kenzo store, just steps away, bursts with energy—a visual playground of anodised aluminium, red lockers and playful Boke flower motifs. Helmed by the visionary designer NIGO, the 155 sqm space feels like a living embodiment of Kenzo’s youthful spirit, luring the adventurous and the fashion-forward.

Next, Loewe’s boutique offers a transportive experience. Stepping into the store feels like crossing into a Spanish art house; with bespoke furnishings, Spanish wool rugs and ceramic tiles, every inch of its 144 sqm reflects the brand’s CASA LOEWE concept—a blend of artistry and understated luxury.

Finally, the Versace boutique dazzles with its marble Greca motifs, velvet seating and a sense of Italian classicism that transports you straight to Milan’s finest. With a sprawling 192 sqm footprint, it envelops visitors in the dramatic and opulent world of Versace, where fashion is an affair of grandeur and statement.
