Anton Tantoco Huang

Guided by a legacy of excellence in Philippine luxury retail, Anton Tantoco Huang, the president and CEO of SSI Group and Rustan Commercial Corporation, continues to elevate Filipino retail to international standards. From his early years at SSI in 1994—when the company managed just three brands—he has built a portfolio that now spans 102 of the world’s most coveted names, from fashion and beauty to home and lifestyle. Under his stewardship, Rustan’s remains the country’s premier department store, synonymous with curation, service and heritage, while SSI has become a regional powerhouse in premium retail.

Huang launched SSI’s digital platform, TRUNC, during the pandemic, pioneering the Philippines’s online luxury retail experience and extending access to brands such as Hermès, Cartier, Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta. The company reported a record-breaking net income increase of over 100 per cent in the first half of 2023, surpassing PHP 1 billion. Following the passing of his mother, Nedy Tantoco, in 2024, Huang took on the role of president and CEO of SSI Group, continuing her legacy of innovation and excellence while strengthening the group’s long-term strategy and vision.

In 2025, Huang’s inclusion in the Business of Fashion 500 Class of 2025 as the list’s first Filipino executive marked a global recognition of his leadership and influence, underscoring his role in shaping the region’s luxury retail landscape. That same year, he further consolidated the family’s retail holdings through SSI Group’s majority acquisition of Rustan Marketing Corporation (RMK), integrating its portfolio of leading fragrance, luggage and houseware brands into SSI’s network. Huang remains committed to inclusivity and empowerment as a founding member of the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment.
