The Ingenues | For the popular model and influencer, ‘fashion can make you feel invincible’

Model and influencer LA Aguinaldo believes in the power of presentation: how looking good can make you feel good and thus do your best. “If you’re happy with what you have on, people will notice. Go into a room with your head up high and own it,” says the social media star, who has become a mainstay of local and international fashion events such as Paris Fashion Week, where he attended the menswear shows of Hermès and Kenzo and got a sneak peek of Pharrel’s first collection for Louis Vuitton.

Often seen in roomy pullovers and slouchy suits, Aguinaldo is largely influenced by street style. He credits his favourite artists and brands, including Virgil Abloh and Louis Vuitton, as the inspirations that motivate him toward a more sophisticated aesthetic. The model also put his own spin into things, adding how his interpretation of the popular style has now become more tailored. Still, Aguinaldo returns to what has guided him through the years: “[Confidence] is everything,” he stresses. “Fashion can make you feel invincible.”
