Here are the exciting and informative panel discussions taking place during Tatler Malaysia’s Sustainability Weekend 2024 on April 27 and 28
Featuring pioneering discussions, eco-friendly innovation, and hands-on workshops, Tatler Malaysia’s Sustainability Weekend is back this year for a fun-filled celebration of all things sustainability, held in partnership with The Exchange TRX and Enrich by Malaysia Airlines.
Open to the public, Sustainability Weekend 2024 will see participation from over 30 brands who have come together to help guests facilitate a sustainability-driven and eco-conscious lifestyle, from more eco-friendly beauty and dining choices to positive habits like composting and upcycling.
In collaboration with Think City, several panel discussions will be held with experts to delve into pressing topics such as climate change, green financing, and the broader aspects of sustainability. These discussions aim to motivate collective action and contribute significantly to a more sustainable future.

Day 1, April 27
Climate Commitments: Assessing Progress, Charting Paths, and Collaborating for a Sustainable Future (Climate Change Act), 3pm

The first panel discussion will delve into the ongoing efforts and challenges in addressing climate change through policy commitments and collaborative action. This topic explores the effectiveness of existing climate change acts and initiatives in driving progress towards sustainability goals.
The moderator of the session is Dr Yasmin Rasyid, general manager of group sustainability at Sime Darby Property. Joining her in this panel is Khairun Nisa Zabidi, co-founder and board director of Nusanterra and Eco-Business, Phillip See Yew Jin, group chief sustainability officer and chief executive of loyalty and travel services at Malaysia Aviation Group as well as Datin Seri Sunita Rajakumar, chairperson and founder of Climate Governance Malaysia.
Green Capital: Navigating the Landscape of Sustainable Finance for a Greener Future, 4.30pm

This topic delves into the evolving landscape of sustainable finance, including green bonds, sustainable investment funds, and other innovative financial instruments that support environmentally friendly projects and businesses.
Moderated by environmental activist and our 2021 Asia’s Most Influential alumni, Dr Renard Siew, he will be joined by industry stalwarts such as Lee Jim Leng, group managing director and CEO of Hong Leong Investment Bank, Hamdan Abdul Majeed, managing director of Think City, Sharifah Sarah Syed Mohamed Tahir, chief business officer of Bank Islam and Arina Kok, partner for climate change and sustainability at Ernst & Young Consulting.

Southeast Asia is highly vulnerable to the physical impacts of climate change, yet it also boasts abundant nature and natural capital. This region holds vast potential to leverage both the oldest and newest solutions for adaptation and resilience-building. The panel discussion will explore the critical role of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), climate analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing the resilience of cities and communities.
Moderating this panel is Dr Dzaeman Dzulkifli, executive director of Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Centre and 2020 Gen.T honouree. Joining him in this discussion are Ahila Ganesan, senior advisor from Think City, Lavanya Rama Iyer, director of policy and climate change of WWF-Malaysia, and Anis Mohd Nor, principal of social impact and climate & sustainability from BCG.

The discussion will address pressing questions about the future of cities and the way forward in charting a sustainable path for urban regeneration.
