Queen of the Greens: Jeeno Thitikul, World No. 1, named Rolex Player of the Year after defending her CME Championship crown

Ending the season with a major victory ensures Jeeno maintains her status as the World No. 1, while also making her the winningest player of the 2025 LPGA season, with three titles: the Mizuho Americas Open in New Jersey, USA; the Buick LPGA Shanghai in China and finally the CME Group Tour Championship in Florida, USA, which marks the 7th LPGA Tour title of her career.

Before stepping into the final round, the defending champion described her mindset simply yet powerfully: “I just try to make birdie, birdie, and birdie.”

With her trademark smile, she elaborated: “I just try to do the same thing—hit the fairway, find the best spot to get close to the pin, and make the putt. It’s really that simple.”

Jeeno capped off her season by sweeping two additional accolades—the Rolex Player of the Year and the Vare Trophy—solidifying her position as the most dominant player of the year.

She reflected on the week with heartfelt honesty: “I love this course. Playing the final event of the year here gives me so much energy. Last week, I was worried I might not be able to play, but that’s the problem—we shouldn’t overthink or expect too much. I just told myself, ‘Yes, you can play.’ and that's good enough.”
