Desaru Coast, Johor is set to host Ombak Festival—a coastal weekend of music, art, and dining

From 13 to 15 September, Desaru Coast’s very own coastal weekend celebration is set to take over the award-winning destination resort. A calendar of curated performances and events that shine the spotlight on international acts, local artistry, and kitchen takeovers by some of the peninsular’s most venerated dining venues is to be expected throughout the entire destination. Festival-goers will be kept more than busy with Ombak Festival’s beachfront art trail, curated boutiques focused on Southeast Asian designers, and, of course, an Asia-exclusive performance by the iconic Grace Jones.

Grace Jones is set to headline the Ombak Main Stage, bringing her eclectic discography to the Malaysian coast. The Jamaican-American singer, songwriter, actress, and model began her music career in 1977 and redefined New York City’s disco scene before finding her sound in a blend of reggae, funk, and pop. Jones is expected to perform a myriad of her Top 40 entries and highlights from her most recent album, Hurricane.
