Malaysia’s homegrown festival brand Good Vibes Festival has announced that its 2024 edition has been cancelled and here’s everything you need to know
Update: Future Sound Asia, the organisers of Good Vibes Festival, has just announced the cancellation of this year's event. "As communicated by the authorities by way of a letter dated June 27, 2024, large-scale performances involving international artists are not to be held on July 20, 2024, and are to be rescheduled to a later date, out of respect for the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia," the organiser wrote in an Instagram post.
"Due to the nature of Good Vibes Festival (GVF) which involves multiple touring acts over multiple days, rescheduling the festival is not possible. As a result, Future Sound Asia is announcing the cancellation of the festival, originally scheduled for July 20 and 21, 2024. All ticket purchasers for GVF will automatically receive full refunds to the payment method used for their purchase. Thank you for your kind understanding and patience," Future Sound Asia added.

One of the biggest and most anticipated annual events in Malaysia, Good Vibes Festival, was scheduled for July this year.

The festival, which brings together the hottest local and international acts in the music industry, was set to thrill festivalgoers and fans over a two-day event. This would have marked Good Vibes Festival’s triumphant comeback after the abrupt cancellation of Good Vibes Festival 2023.

When was Good Vibes Festival 2024 supposed to be held?
Good Vibes Festival 2024 was to be held across the weekend of July 20 and 21, 2024.
Due to popular demand, the festival had even planned its doors to music lovers aged 16 years old and above.
Where was Good Vibes Festival 2024 going to be held?
Good Vibes Festival 2024 was supposed to be held at the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets (GHPO) bus parking, Resorts World Awana, which is located at the mid-hill of Genting Highlands, Pahang.

Who was expected to perform at Good Vibes Festival 2024?
Germany-based South Korean singer-songwriter, DJ, and producer Peggy Gou announced that she’ll be performing at Good Vibes Festival 2024 as part of her Asia tour.
The multifaceted artist is known for her stage charisma and for pushing boundaries with her dynamic style in music, exploring various genres including house, techno, and disco. As well, bringing back the good vibes with Peggy Gou are J Balvin, Joji, and Russ as headliners.

Adding to the lineup is Alec Benjamin who brings his captivating storytelling to the stage. Meanwhile, the Vancouver quartet Peach Pit promises their signature narratives to the stage with breezy guitar melodies and quirky anthems. Next up is the most followed up-and-coming artist on TikTok with over five million followers, Henry Moodie.
Coined as one of South Korea’s fastest-rising stars, singer-songwriter and actress BIBI is known for her cheeky stage presence, vocals, and witty rap lyrics that will leave you mesmerised. Another South Korean on the bill are legendary hip hop artists Tiger JK and his wife Yoon Mi-Rae who are set to greet the crowd with what Korean hip-hop and R&B are all about.

Many of the artists who didn’t get to perform last year were expected to be given another chance on the stage this year such as Mardiana, The Filters, SaturdaySelects, Capt’n Trips and The Kid, Mr Yang, Talitha., and more.
