“I work with my mother-in-law, Menchu at Omnivores and opened Lady Scott Jones with Maricar for fun. With so much that has changed during the pandemic, we also faced problems with shipments for our furniture. So, we wanted to create a concept that embodied what we do from food to homes. We are still thinking of where else we can take Lady Scott Jones,” Lopez shares, hinting at more innovation in the near future.

This multi-functional establishment houses all three unique brands Lady Scott Jones, Bon Appetit, and Rustan’s Flower Shop—concepts that are nurtured by these two creative businesswomen. However, the curation and unmistakable aesthetic attributed to Lady Scott Jones, which is evident throughout their collections of brand new furniture finds, or vintage silver from England, has now inspired the entire of 1120 House. Visually, it’s undeniably chic. The entire project has the energy and character of Lady Scott Jones; there clearly is a unifying motif that flows effortlessly throughout every single space.

The restaurant housed in the 1120 House is Bon Appetit, a total revamp of the former concept from back in the day. Its interiors are a mixture of industrial stone walls and warm rattan touches. “I worked very closely with Kitty Bunag of Craft Smith Guild to make this come to life,” shares Lopez.

When it comes to their approach to food, everything is different from the Bon Appetit (BP) you may remember. “We are working with chef Booj Supe who also handles Benny’s Place and Gourmet Garage. But for the new BP, you can expect to find elevated comfort food with a focus on healthy eats. We are very conscious of allergens, and have lots of options like gluten and dairy-free as well,” Lopez enthuses. With health at the cornerstone of almost all conversations we have these days, thinking about eating well is extremely relevant. It also ties in swimmingly with the entire ethos behind 1120 House, as a place to surround yourself with beautiful things and pamper your soul.

Bon Appetit, nicknamed, the Café at The House, welcomes diners to simply unwind. Come visit to lounge with a book, have some wine or a coffee and pass the time in a picturesque nook hidden smack-bang in the middle of the metro.

Made by a family enthused by creating artful, delicious experiences be it in retail, florals or food, 1120 House still has more to offer. “There’s a lot of heart in the work,” Lopez remarks.

To get a whiff of 1120 House, stop by to view their home line, order their food for takeout, or select from Bon Bakery for their sweet treats. On January 20, they will be rolling out their outdoor dining area and a new cocktail menu as well.

Tatler Tip: Lopez shares that Rustan’s Flower Shop will be getting a re-vamping of its own. “It will have a new vibe and look altogether,” she adds.
