Thai food continues to be a fan-favourite in the Philippine dining scene, with many newcomers joining the race. Now, Miam Miam Kitchen + Bar tosses its hat into the ring with contemporary dishes by chef de cuisine Collen Sia. An evolution from the beloved cloud kitchen fried chicken brand Miam Miam Chicken (try saying that five times fast), the restaurant is set within a revamped classroom inside of Aleanza Institute. In these art deco lounge interiors, Miam Miam serves à la carte, degustation, and even custom menus. From XO smoked oysters to grilled coconut marinated steak and Thai-inspired cocktails, it’s a colourful ode to the vibrant cuisine.

6. Deo Gracias

Location: Quezon City

A brilliant partnership by chefs Heny Sison and Alex del Hoyo Gomez, Deo Gracias proves that there is always room for culinary innovation. Spanish staples are reinvented while paying homage to the traditional, as in the croquetas líquidas de queso, oozing with luscious cheese. The tataki takes it a step even further by replacing tuna with watermelon, orange, and honeycomb. Orthodox eaters are well catered for too, with crowd-favourites like arroz negro, cochinillo castellano, and more. Don’t forget to stop by La Tienda, the in-house deli, on your way out.

Taking a modern approach, Indus is a much-welcome addition to the small but growing collection of Indian restaurants in the metro.
