What’s more, our innovative chefs are constantly working to expand our palates with new creations. Start the week with delightful Spanish fare at Lumbre before digging into new offerings at French restaurant L’Angélus. End the week strong with a lavish cocktail brunch at Gemma Steakhouse.

1. L’Angélus

This French restaurant has debuted a host of new dishes that are sure to delight. Look forward to a revamped à la carte menu featuring 11 new dishes, including the Ventrèche en Tartare. A classic entrée with a twist, this dish comprises Japanese blue fin chutoro (tuna belly) tartare balanced with umami flavours of nori, shallots and seaweed mayo. It’s paired perfectly with a serving of crispy oven-baked bread chips. Meat lovers can look out for the Pluma Ibérique featuring succulent Iberico pork, wonderfully seasoned with shio koji. The juicy cut is sous vide for an hour before pan-roasted to a gorgeous finish. It’s decorated with green apple purée, crispy pork crackling and traditional soubise sauce (chopped onions, cream, pork jus and Madeira wine). Book here

2. Lumbre

Chijmes has become more vibrant with the opening of Lumbre, a Spanish restaurant offering familiar Spanish favourites. Drop by for lunch or dinner and delight in a plethora of small plates and grilled dishes. Among the standouts are the charcoal octopus and Iberico pork belly with chorizo foam. The hearty dish sees tender octopus slow-cooked and charcoal grilled until wonderfully charred. It’s balanced with crisp pork belly and bathed in a rich Iberico chorizo espuma. If you prefer a meatier dish, the juicy lamb rack is elevated with pistachio praline, baby tomatoes and black olives. Book here.

3. The Marmalade Pantry

Escape the lunch crown with an indulgent meal at The Marmalade Pantry’s downtown outlet. Its two-course executive lunch set comprises a choice of main and a starter or dessert. Dig into the likes of fragrant Thai basil fried rice crowned with a perfectly cooked sunny side up and served alongside juicy grilled beef skewers; Norwegian-sourced grilled salmon with a rich Dijon mustard cream sauce; and ciabatta sandwich. The latter is a sandwich layered with tender chicken thigh deep-fried till golden brown and house-made coleslaw. Finish the meal with a decadent pistachio raspberry rose cupcake that is sure to satisfy any sweet craving. Book here.

4. Gemma Steakhouse

Pamper yourself this weekend with Gemma’s bottomless cocktail Sunday brunch. Get the party started with unlimited pours of martinis, negronis and whisky sours, which will pair extremely well with its delectable brunch spread. Begin the meal with a selection of appetisers, including tender Challans duck prosciutto with olives and cassis jam. When you’re ready for mains, don’t forget to try the spanner crab cappelletti crowned with succulent crab and silky egg yolk. 5. Book Ahead: Firangi Superstar

Head chef Raj Kumar has curated new set menus in celebration of the modern Indian restaurant’s first birthday. The two chaataversary menus offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Anticipate plates like the You Meen Moilee, a dish comprising kingfish tataki, baby beet achar and coconut emulsion. The dish can also be enjoyed in the form of juicy watermelon tataki, instead of kingfish. Of course, as the menu name suggests, diners will also get to indulge in freeflowing chaats.
