Quan’s Kitchen will fuse Northwestern Chinese-Muslim accords and Malaysian kampung mainstays this Ramadan with its long-awaited Quan’s Bazar Ramadan Cina Muslim. Familiarity and nostalgia underpin the restaurant’s seasonal dining experience, available from March 10 to April 9. The restaurant will reflect the street food-lined laneways of Chinatown and Ramadan bazaars, bringing culturally revered burger ramlee and roti john stalls indoors. 

Roasted whole lamb in Mongolian marinade, Uyghur beliq shorpa, and dry chilli beef with Chinese celery prove notable highlights. For those who would rather break fast at home, a set of select dishes will be available for guests to takeaway.

The RuMa Hotel and Residences’ team of chefs have taken inspiration from Malaysia’s diverse assortment of cuisines and personal family recipes to create this year’s Ramadan buffet. Santai Pool Bar and Lounge promises authenticity, showcasing sentimental dishes crafted from recipes passed down through generations.

One such dish is siakap kukus limau mangga muda—the recipe of which was closely guarded by sous chef Rizuwan’s mother until now. Staying true to tradition, the dish’s ingredients have been sourced from his mother’s farm.

Regional delicacies will also be spotlighted at Santai alongside roti john or lobster rolls made to order, a carving station, and a freshly grilled seafood stall.

From March 12 till April 9, Lemon Garden will be serving its Saijian Istimewa buffet dinner. Yap champions the preservation of indigenous Malaysian heritage cuisine, making use of intergenerational and culturally specific cooking techniques and produce.

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur’s gastronomic lineup will spotlight an array of Malaysian staples and include dishes inspired by Egyptian, Moroccan, and Lebanese cuisines. 

Diners can expect elevations of sentimental favourites like gulai masak lemak labu, asam pedas ikan pari, and rendang itik cili padi. The recently opened Hotel Indigo will celebrate its first Ramadan at Wok Star. From March 12 to April 9, the restaurant will provide diners with a Talam-style semi-buffet dining concept that pays tribute to Malaysia’s culinary heritage. The star of the show is its ocean platter, featuring Palembang prawn and red snapper, grilled table-side and served with tamarind sauce, spicy soy sauce, and Portuguese sambal.

Diners can expect main courses of biryani with quail eggs, roasted lamb with coconut gravy, and poached salmon swimming in tamarind stew.

From March 12 to April 9, JP Teres will house the hotel’s Selera Nusantara buffet, paying homage to the cuisines of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. From March 12 to April 9, The Mill Café will platform local celebratory fare and pay tribute to traditional cooking techniques. Alongside an array of Malaysian favourites will be the hotel’s belanga bakar station. Belanga bakar is a time-honoured technique that sees dishes prepared in clay pots to retain moisture and lend food earthy, smoky profiles. 

Complementing nine types of belanga bakar is its selection of roasts, notably its Szechuan peppercorn and cumin-marinated whole roasted lamb. You’ll also be able to tuck into mains of ayam masak madu, udang goreng oat, and bubur lambuk.

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is welcoming the month of Ramadan with its Destinasi Rasa Serantau buffet from March 12 to April 9. Kwee Zeen’s offerings celebrate flavours from seven Malaysian states, platforming regional delicacies. Ketupat sotong form Kelantan, asam pedas ekor lembu from Melaka, and mee udang galah from Penang are just some of the dishes to be expected.

Catering to durian enthusiasts, La Boulangerie has also put together a durian station, showcasing our national fruit every night of the season.

Over 300 dishes will be served at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur from March 12 to April 9. The culinary traditions, ingredients, and flavours of Nusantara are at the helm of the hotel’s buffet. Hearty meat dishes are this year’s signatures, spotlighting daging kepal tempayan rempah, kambing biri-biri, and gulai tetel.

Not forgetting those who subscribe to plant-based diets, the buffet will feature sayur cincang masak sos makhni— a medley of mixed beans, green pea avocado cream, zesty mayonnaise, and cracked papadum.

Sedap Restaurant’s Aroma Nusantara buffet will pay tribute to Ramadan bazaars with its own celebratory outdoor market. From March 11 to April 7, ten stalls offering over 300 dishes will line the hotel’s driveway in a fusion of effervescent tradition and contemporary elegance. Beloved hawker fare is at the helm of this dining experience, featuring Malay-style salads, ais kacang, lok-lok, and satay. 

An a la carte menu will also be available for those who prefer a curated selection. Melding Chinese and Malay accords, the menu will include roast chicken with Kelantan-style percik, spicy seafood Szechuan sea cucumber, and black Angus beef rendang.

Amaya Food Gallery will showcase a banquet of traditional Malay cuisine this Ramadan. The restaurant’s exterior will be lined with outdoor stalls housing an array of Malaysian delicacies including murtabak, Nyonya laksa Melaka, and sup tulang rawan. From March 18 to April, the eatery’s spread will also feature substantial dishes of sotong masak lemak, wok fried clams with tom yum paste, and sambal petal.

Flock, the hotel’s Pan-asian grill, is paying homage to Ramadan bazaars with the return of its Bazaar Malam. Vibrance takes centre stage at W Kuala Lumpur, highlighting the inherent festivity of Malaysian culture. Multiple stalls set against a backdrop of the city’s skyline will serve local delicacies while the restaurant’s interior will house tiger prawn masak lemak, asam pedas telur ikan mayong, and fresh seafood grilled over charcoal and coconut husks.

The spread will also see local desserts and mocktails crafted with tropical produce made to order, which guests can experience from March 12 to April 8.
