The Chuan, a Sichuan-based whisky distillery, has partnered with Hong Kong’s Chengdu Restaurant to present a place-driven dining experience that spotlights the region’s heritage flavours, available until July 12.

Curated by executive chef Li Ha, the multi-course journey features technically-focused classics like the Imperial chicken tofu soup, which demands precise knife skills, and reimagined recipes such as the Kung Pao French foie gras, which balances the rich fattiness of the dish with the sauce’s sharp acidity. Four whisky expressions accompany the meal, including a pure malt whisky with vibrant citrus notes.

The menu is priced from HK$1,880 per person for groups of four or more and includes a complimentary bottle of The Chuan whisky.

One year on

Above Bistro classics make up Jean-Pierre’s anniversary menu

A year on Bridges Street, and Jean-Pierre has firmly established itself as a destination for Parisian bistro-style dining in Hong Kong. To mark its first anniversary, chef John Troupis and the team are launching a month-long celebration in July, centred around the Hommage aux Bistrots de Paris menu.

This nine-course experience nods to bistro classics, featuring the likes of pâté de campagne inspired by Brasserie Lipp—a century-old institution in Paris—and sea bass basted in vodka beurre blanc (butter cream sauce). The finale includes a collaborative gelato with Messina: the Cointreau-versial flavour, which brings together chocolate mousse, crème fraîche and a splash of French orange liqueur. Complete the experience with the July special cocktail, Hemingway Champagne, which blends French bubbles with absinthe.

The menu is available from July 1 and priced from HK$988 per person.
